Totally awesome sets by both bands.

Especailly MeShell. She played mostly new music, or songs I hadn't head from her. She raised the level of funk in the room and even quoted PFUNK: "Everybody has a little light under the sun".

SOULIVE was jazzy and jam-oriented. The trio (drums, guitar & keys) was augmented by two saxes (alto & tenor) and IVan NEville on clavinet/keys and vocals.

Excellent night and excellent crowd. Copped some CDS from each arsit at the vendor table.

This is a great tour underway and, as theyy're headed north and then east, everybody around here should catch it.

I plan on catching their show at B.B. King's when they come to NYC this month. It should be great.

I looove her so much - I'm goin to the DC show on October 26th - I know it's gonna be off the chain!

I'm going to the Atlanta show on Oct. 30th. I'm really looking forward to it. Thanx for the info on the show.
