MESHELL & Soulive Ana HOB 10/11 Totally awesome sets by both bands.
Especailly MeShell. She played mostly new music, or songs I hadn't head from her. She raised the level of funk in the room and even quoted PFUNK: "Everybody has a little light under the sun". SOULIVE was jazzy and jam-oriented. The trio (drums, guitar & keys) was augmented by two saxes (alto & tenor) and IVan NEville on clavinet/keys and vocals. Excellent night and excellent crowd. Copped some CDS from each arsit at the vendor table. This is a great tour underway and, as theyy're headed north and then east, everybody around here should catch it. test | |
