EMMYLOU HARRIS-Stumble Into Grace.....a WONDERFUL album!!! Any Emmy fans on board???
I become a bigger Emmylou fan every day and this album has just blown me away...once again! (For me she ranks up there with Prince...talk about diverse!) Known largely because of her distinct interpretaion of others songs...STUMBLE INTO GRACE is a collection of songs written entirly by Emmylou (just like her last great release RED DIRT GIRL) Her fragile, emotional vocals float through 11 elegant, almost atmospheric songs that speak of our world today ('Time in Babylon'), tragedy, and combines it all with great sense of hope and faith ('Here I Am', 'Cup of Kindness')... Other hightlights include her tribute to the late June Carter Cash, "Strong Hand (For June)" in which she is joined by Linda Ronstadt. It's such a beautiful album...and I encourage you all to check it out! It's so great to see such a legendary artist continue to grow musically and creatively after almost 30+ years in the business. In the last decade she has recorded 3 modern classic gems including her masterpiece WRECKING BALL (1995) produced by Daniel Lanois (known for his work with U2 and Bob Dylan)... If you have yet to discover the music of Emmylou Harris...I suggest you do it now! Further Listening... Her voice is stunningly beautiful!!!
Now here is a female rock performer who has God-given talent!!! No female singer now has anywhere near the talent that she has!! She is a true genius and a legend!! In the 70s I was a huge fan of her, Linda Ronstadt and Stevie Nicks!! DAMN!! I am giving my age away now, arent I???!!!

Plus the fact, she has been around the block a few times, unlike all the female "singers" (and I use the term VERY loosely!!) around now!!

I agree! She's 56 years old and does circles around the current crop of 'singers'! I'm attending her concert this Tuesday in L.A. and I'm prepared to blubber like a baby! She kills me with that voice! Every minute of last night is on my face today....

I have to get this.
I have to admit that I only knew of her through Lucious Jackson. Former bandmember Vivian Trimble and fellow musician Josephine Wiggs formed a group called Dusty Trails and they featured Emmylou on a track called "Cup of Coffee". That song just kills me. It is so sad and she makes you feel it with her voice. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I discovered her through the TRIO album with Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton...I've always loved Linda and learned that she and Emmylou have worked many times together...14 years later I own every album and will FINALLY see her in concert this Tuesday!!!
