What, he's dead? From what?

Prince was a Robert Palmer admirer. I heard a story from Robert that he was sitting in a resturaunt and was delivered to his table a tape with a song from Prince, and that Prince wrote the song for him. He knocked it back because he said it was so 'brilliant', he could never do it justice. Wonder what the song was? Anyone know?

...and those were only the 'newest' songs.

Better were:

Best of both worlds
Johnny & Mary
I dream of wires
Sneakin' Sally thru the alley
Bad case of lovin' you (Doctor, Doctor)
Every kinda people
Give me an inch
Lookin' for clues
Woke up laughing

and a newer one: She made my day (ok. 80ies, but newer than those)

He was a great artist and a better dandy than Bryan Ferry..

eye no that prince gave robert palmer a track called lust u always. this is supposedly the instrumental divinity with lyrics. don't know if that's the one u speak of.
robert may be considered an associated artist of sorts: check out chaka khan's come 2 my house. he co-wrote the great title track and spoon, and appears on spoon as well.
robert palmer had some great music during his career. love, love, love the singles from clues!
may he rest in peace sad
