Madonna/Britney video collabo By E-Online
A word from stimulating music vampers par excellence is that Britney Spears and Mrs. Madonna Ritchie will be coming together. Again. On film. For all to see. As has been announced, B. 'n' M. are doing a video (to be filmed in New York or London) for Britney's new album, Get in the Zone--specifically for the single "Me Against the Music." . "But they won't be kissing," pooped a mucho, mucho, mucho inside source working with the dynamic duo. "Direct order." From whose camp? "Both." Sound-wise, Brit's new appeal is techno-ethnic-funky-studio-reverb. Hmmm. Wonder where the perky performer learned to bump-hip herself up like that? While you're trying to figure that one out, here's what else I've discovered is being ordered and written, as we cyber-speak, for the ultimate voyeur's video: - Loads of semi-clothed girls will be used in a club-like environment. - Madonna will have her own room for some scenes, "somewhere off, where she can watch the other girls," blabbed my golden gabber. "Madonna is the club's sexy ruler, who lures Britney deeper." Yum for the taut bum! - Ms. M. will also have her own set of "girls on leashes." - Young women, say connected snoops, will be kissing--but not the previously tonguing cuties themselves, as discussed. Too risky. - "It'll have an air of perversity, but not be perverse," pooped the musical pooper. Oh, that's right. Forgot. Britney still needs to sell in the Midwest. Even so, can't wait! Sounds like too much fun. Sounds dire to me.

Like Stevie Knicks said, with without mystery of sexuality as how Madonna presented it...with class, Britney's new "sexual side" doesnt click my switch, nor alot of other people, cuz every1 is dooin it already... I guess with Madonna in the video it will make it popular, but it badly needs a remix 2 spark. [This message was edited Thu Sep 25 10:55:15 PDT 2003 by paisleypark4] Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Bad idea
I love Madonna, but I don't think she should be collaborating with Britney Spears. The VMA performance was cool, but let's just leave it at that.I'd like for Madonna to move on, maybe find another kickass movie role (like 'Evita' or something) and start planning that rumored Greatest Hits tour.

I know. Or at least finish promoting this album with a 3rd and 4th single. She seems distracted or something.

better than the string of ho-hum videos Madonna's put out in the last 8 years (with a few exceptions), anway.

FINALLY! i know she's older and wiser and more matue and even spiritual now, but i've been longing for the Madonna with balls, that could push buttons, that had people talking about her, that put out eye-catching and interesting (and occasionally shocking) videos. btw, the description of the video sounds like a cross between Dirrrty and Express Yourself. not so excited about the former, but could be improved by the latter.

I'm over that. She's done it all already. And it isn't that interesting to see her retread. I much prefer the focus on the Music of her last 3 albums. I don't miss the spectacle one bit. And if she needs Britney to do that again, it's doubley sad.

And if she needs Britney to do that again, it's doubley sad. eh... well i guess we'll just have to wait and see. if you described the "Don't Tell Me" video as "Madonna, line-dancing, in cowboy gear, against a projections screen" i would have told you that it was pretty stupid. conversely, if you were to tell me what the the "Music" video was going to be like beforehand, i'd have said "sounds awesome!" (and I did), but the final result was kind of sucky to me. speaking of the "Music" video... do you feel the same about it as you do the Britney video? it's got Madonna in a strip club and with asses shaking in her face.

madonna will always resort to publicity tactics. that what she does. its who she is. this was only a matter of time. i think she was just waiting to see if britney was a spice girl or if she had lasting potential. i called this almost a year ago on this site...not to give myself a reach around or anything...lol

so...this is britney's new scheme. I guess she needs Maddy in the video for people to actually pay attention.
It is "sex" revisted, thrown in with a bit of "dirrty", sounds good, typical, but good. Go on britney, pimp that album, pimp it good ~KiKi

Not sure exactly. And I don't know why I'm having trouble with her shifts in direction lately. Maybe that's her new stance though, pimp other girls instead of sexing it up herself. Music video - going to stripclubs, sluts in the limo, etc. VMA's - pimping Britney and Christina Britney video - owning the club and being a madame of sorts.

you guys have it all wrong...it will only go downhill from here for ms. spears...there's no shock value left with her (unless she decides to bare all but how shocking is that these days?!). What's she going to do...start singing about unexpected pregnancies (papa don't preach) or dance in front of burning crosses? At least madonna maintained the shock across the board rahterthan with just sex.
you know if madonna was considerate, you'd think she would draw from her own experience and advise britney to try something else other than strip tease-videos and lip-syncing to maintain her stamina. a few Madonna news items of interest...
***There had been a few rumors that the box set project has been put on hold. But according to a fan/insider at Madonnamad... "The box set is definitely going to happen! I work for Warners here in Australia and the box set is down for a mid-November release. This release is included in our Christmas campaign. The box set consists of 2 DVDs and 2 CDs.The DVD releases are the 'Blond Ambition' tour and a DVD of rare clips and TV appearances. The CDs will be a definitive Greatest Hits and a CD of popular remixes.I wasn't sure if you guys already knew or if you thought it wasn't going to happen,I thought I'd just let you know". ***and here's a newspaper article... NEW YORK---Madonna has another No.1 hit, this time on the book charts The singer's children's story "The English Roses" was published simultaneously around the world Sept. 15 and will top the New York Time's children's list for the Oct.5 edition. "It demonstrates once again that Madonna has an extraordinary gift for communicating with children of all ages,"Nicholas Callaway,CEO of Callaway Arts and Entertainment, the book's U.S. publisher, said in a statement Thursday. According to Nielsen Bookscan, which tracks sales in the United States,Madonna's book sold 57,369 copies in it's first full week.

Good job Madonna.
Way to alienate the fans you have left. Not only does the video sound awful but the fact that it is her single and you are featured??? I'm not one of those anti-Britney people but holy shit! It's like she is trying to piss off her fans that have been loyal for years. We realize that you change all the time but this is not the kind of "Changes" Bowie was talking about (or would endrose). Why don't you fire Jackie again (I wonder if anyone will get that). This really pisses me off. I love the fact that she makes this high art rock/pop sort of album, pulls the first video, tries all these gimicky ideas to promote the second single (heaven forbid she preform the actual song somewhere) and then turns around to play the old woman licking her chops over Britney Spears. Don't go make a pop album yourself or anything. God forbid you work with Metro, or some dacne producer or someone to make a great album. No, give us a box set of hits, bad remixes and rare clips. David Spade joked 11 years ago that Madonna and Micheal Jackson were in race to end to see who could end their career first. Looks like Madonna might win... She puts no effort into making videos for the singles we want but goes off and makes bad side projects that will surely lead to the cliche calling scream of "sell out" in the streets. This is a bad idea and I'm sure it means she is finished doing anything with AL. And I hardly think this even comes close to what the "Sex" era was. I've never really bad mouthed Madonna, but she just looks like an old fool now. I thought kissing thing was kind of cool but this is desperate and it won't even work (IMHO).

I've said it before and I'll say it again, her whole damn career has consisted of "selling out" there's a reason why when she first came everyone except young guys and teenage girls hated her why people are acting surprised that she's doing this is beyond me. britney's fairly popular, people are still talking about the kiss, and sex is still selling. Maddy's just cashing in--as she always does. though I do smell a backlash ala the "sex" period, but she'll still get payed. best believe that ~KiKi

I think there is a world of difference between this and the Ricky Martin thing (which I never really heard). This is going to a video and probably more about the video then the song. It is going to a single, a BIG single! And this is Madonna being featured on a song that she only sings (I think Madonna at least co-wrote the Ricky Martin song). I really hope I'm not right about this but it seems like everything Madonna has been doing has been wrong. It all kind of went downhil after the AL video that never was.
