El tours solo these days,and he plays in my area all the time.I've never been to one of his shows,so I'm not sure who his musicians are. I remember that baby rumor like it was only yesterday! I also remember being a teenager seeing a picture of them together in either "Right On!" or "Black Beat" magazine ('cause I used to read both RELIGIOUSLY) with Janet sitting in James's lap, with a caption underneath the photo announcing that they were expecting baby in the next coming February!!! Does anybody out there remember all the press they got in the Black magazines talking about them expecting? Then suddenly, by the time that February rolled around there was nary a baby (or a husband)to be seen! I betcha my moms (being the pack rat that she is) might still have a lot of my old magazines in her attic- what I wouldn't give to be able to get my hands on that pic and post it for y'all; they were all bright eyed and beaming, and Janet really looked pregnant (either that or she was going through a fat phase).But then, after that marriage was annulled, nobody in the press ever brought up that baby issue again. She was pregnant by James, but had a miscarriage. This was announced when it happened. She was about 4 months along. James talked about this in an interview some time in the 90's and said he also heard about a second pregnacy rumor and that Jan gave the baby to Rebbie. He said "I hope it's not true. I will be very upset if it is" When did she say that? ...and even though we know that poor LaToya is wacky as all get out, I swear before God that in a shoot i worked on to replace a friend of mine once, Latoya was going on and on about family secrets to her make-up artist, and she was swearing up and down that her sister Janet was married to Rene- but not even in a tattletale way. some of us were looking at her like she had lost her mind, and her whole attitude was very "y'all don't EVEN know, do you...?" she was sayng (and keep in mind that this was not on set in front of a zillion people, it was in a dressing room situation with less than 6 people) that the Jacksons have amassed so much power in the entertainment industry that they can buy judges and keep any secret they want to with no problem at all... and you know what? she was actually a really nice lady, but you had the sense that she was suffering alot and came from a VERY complicated family (like an old school soap opera one-life-to-live-days-of-our-lives complicated). she told us back then that janet was married and no one believed her-but from that experience i could understand how people would be inclined to think that just maaaybee there was some child sitting around somewhere that no one knew about... oh well,i swear the more people i meet in the business you would be surprised how many secrets they keep and lies that they tell (particularly under the protection of confidentiality agreements). at this point if lil Jan came out 10 years from now and announced she had been hiding a child to protect it from public scrutiny i don't think i would be surpised or shocked in the least. sometimes people do what they think they have to do in order to survive in their world, i guess. | |
