Sylvester

I was groovin to "You make me feel (mighty real)" this morning...and I was just thinking how much I enjoyed his music...his openess with his sexuality back when it wasn't "cool" to be gay. I remember him on Joan Rivers back in 87 or so, talking about how he got married...to a guy named Steve..and he blushed and got all embarrassed like he shouldn't had "outed" him or something. That was the last time I saw him or heard anything from him until his passing in 88.

The 2 CD set of his greatest hits is great!!!

You don't have to be gay or a drag queen to enjoy his music...

The (dare I say) Original RuPaul!!!

I remember the first time I ever saw a picture of Prince in 1979 / 1980. I thought it was Sylvester!

Disco Heat is still one of my favorite dance jams. I loved Sylvester cuz he was so free and comfortable in his own skin.

Syl' was a wonderful soul, and a beautiful cat with a lot to give musically and on a personal level, i seen Syl many times on stage, when he had the girls backin him up "2 tons of fun" he always brough Martha out more cus Martha could rip and tear up anything, i was there when they did a live version of "you are my friend" not a dry eye in the place
