John Mayer

Does anyone here like John Mayer? Not crazy about his voice, but he's a fantastic guitar player and a good songwriter. His new album is out today. I just bought it and haven't listened to it yet, but I would wholeheartedly suggest you all check out his album "Room for Squares".

Anyway, my friend went to see his concert about a week ago and said that his encore of "Your Body is a Wonderland" included the chorus of "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" toward the end of the song. Pretty cool.

Some of my friends at college last year listened to him a lot and he grew on me. I know he can't really sing too well but he has written some nice songs. I have his first two albums and love "Back To You", "Neon" and "No Such Thing".

Let me know how his new album compares with Room For Squares.

I've listened to the first five songs, and so far I like the first two and the fifth. It's a little heavier/more electric than Room For Squares. So far I'm thinking I like Room for Squares a little better, in that the songs on there are little better written- but I need to invest more time into this CD.

The first song on the new CD is as good and fun as anything on Room for Squares, and it's really cool that ?uestlove plays drums on that track as well!

the two do sound a little similar. However, I think Dave Matthews has seen his heyday and the peak of his popularity- while John Mayer still has a little more to grow... but I guess we'll see. Apparently, Dave's got his first solo album coming out this month.

Yeah, thats Clarity! Thats a tight song, and its the most impressive track on the disk, the others have a lot of growing, but this one is a instant classic.

i think he's cute, and i actually like his songs... but he makes the most idiotic faces while he's singing. you know those "dance" moves Dave Matthews does? John Mayer does the equivalent with his face.

On his new album (Track 7) he uses that keyboard sound like Nine Inch Nails does.. Anyone know what that is??? Im curious cause I play pianos and keyboards, and would love to figure out what the heck is doin that sound..

Note: This song has nothing or no comparison to NIN, there is just a sound in it that they used in some of their tracks, a piano/keyboard sound..

Oddly enough I like John Mayer, but I despise Dave Matthews with a passion. Anyway, Mayer puts on a nice live show, although his facial expressions when he sings can be a little disturbing.
