You know, this is very sad. But he went in a nice way, sleeping on a Sunday afternoon. I hope he listened to his favorite album, picked up a photo album, ate his favorite food and drank his favorite drink.

I've seen him in person just hanging around stores in LA.

About 3 years ago at a Borders on La Cienega, he was asking stuff at the music department counter and just browsing. Then I saw him about a year or so ago at Robinsons May in Beverly Hills. He looked really cool. Had his hair all Sixties-ish with his glasses...no pretentiousness, just like a dude over 50 that was cool naturally that seemed very down to earth. He did look like somebody though, like he was upto something creatively...just a vibe you know. And he looked really healthy, walked with a purpose.

So it's strange because I never really knew his work, yet I did recorgnize him and thought "hey that's Warren Zevon!"..."coool".

And to see him so healthy and know that he's gone, it's just kind of sad. I've lost an old family friend this year too and I nearly lost another father figrure, so I know the sadness too.

Its great that Warren showed bravery and acceptance and the first thing he did was giveve us his songs to say goodbye. Thats living.

Rest in Peace stranger, thanks for the music.

be sure to catch VH1's "Inside Out" about him recording his final album. it's very touching... sad, but uplifting, and a nice eulogy.
