I was listening to a Dance mix on the internet that also showcased an interview with NY Super DJ, Timmy Regisford. Timmy explained in the interview that the label he works for (MCA) and DefJam have joined forces to put out CDs on the true artists. Chaka's new CD was one of the projects that he said that they have in the works. Could this mean that we should have some new Chaka music soon? Hope so.

The interview starts at about 20 or 25 minutes into the mix.

It's a pretty nice mix if you are into Dance/House music.

ahhh its funny you mention chaka. she was in my town yesterday. i heard her on a "oldschool radio station.
she was at ohare airport. she had just got in town and the dj (an old school dude i grew listening to in the 60's)
was interviewing her. it was a short one but it was funny.

chaka was in playful mood. he was kidding her about how far back he went with her. this guy (herb kent) used to do record hops at the local high schools and did a hop at
the school chaka went to...when she was a teenager!
he remember her trying to check out how he djayed...basically
being a pest! harley...she really cracked up on this.

Yeah,I keep hearing about this new label (Def Jam Classics,or something like that) in which Old School artists are given a second chance.But so far,they haven't released anything.
