I'm gonna miss The Dismemberment Plan Their last show is Labor day at the 9:30 club in D.C. I only discovered these guys earlier this year, but I've come to the conclusion that they were one of the best Alternative/indie/Rock bands out there. I hate most Rock today as it is, so it's gonna be really hard losing them now. They were so original, and musically adventurous, and just straight up cool. For those that haven't heard them, I strongly recommend you listen to these crazy sounds by any means necessary. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Oh, and the point to all of this is that after next week's show, they're breaking up. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I saw their last show in Atlanta about a month or so ago. My fifth time seeing them. They will be missed. It's a shame that they still went virtually unnoticed even with all of their critical acclaim. Truely a great indie rock band.
Their lead singer Travis Morrison is going solo though. He has a couple of songs on his website http://www.travismorrison.com. They arent too bad but they just lack the funk that made The Dismemberment Plan what they were. I think he is recording a complete album with guys from Death Cab for Cutie that should be out soon. I'm looking forward to it. I think there demise is the end of most all of my favorite modern bands besides Foo Fighters. "I'm here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubblegum"
