I said it before, I will say it again: He Blows!

Totally overrated 'artist' with an overblown ego, too full of himself!

TTD is a wonderful musician. Theres only a handful of albums he has released, so I would recommend picking them all up. Some may be tough to find since they are out of print, but if you look around in your mom and pop record shops, you're bound to find a used copy at a cheap price.

He also did a WONDERFUL song for the soundtrack to "The Fan" called "Letting Go". And the cassette copy of "Vibrator" has an extra track on it thats rather cool. He also released an album under a pseudonym (the name escapes me right now).

Unfortuneatly, in the 15 or so years that he's been releasing music, his output has been relatively limited when compared to Prince. However, when he does drop an album, its absolutely fantastic. He has really maintained his integrity as a musician over the span of his career and puts out some top notch stuff.

Was the extra track on Vibrator 'Angels Fly Because'? If so that's a great song. I think the album he released under a different name was credited to E.G.O'Reilly.

Angels Fly was some additional lyrics he included in the liner notes to Vibrator, but it's not the extra track on the cassette. The extra track is at the end of side A, its a chant-like song thats really cool, called "Epilogue"

I noticed there is a 3 cd TTD set now available that includes this track on CD...

I've got the audio of his live performance at the Grammys of 'If You Let Me Stay' in 1988. It's on a live album especially for Grammy awards performances and I got it just for him (although there are a few other good ones too). It's the worst live performance I've heard from him unfortunately. I wasn't impressed. But everything else has been top notch, particularly 'Turn The Page' from some mp3 that's going around the net. It's from a bootleg but not sure which one.

Elle, you didn't like that performance. I thought it was one of the best performances of that night. I remember the 1988 grammies like it was yesterday. I had it on tape. The climax of TTD's performance of If You Let Me Stay was awesome. I liked how he stopped the band on the one and did an amazing acapella of some song...then bought back the music back in then stopped his band on the one again and sung a few lines of "Wishing Well". During one of his acapella segments, you can hear this dude in the balcony shouting "SING IT TRENT".

That performance was off the hook. It was surpassed only by YOU KNOW WHO...whose performance of "The Way You Make Me Feel" and "Man In The Mirror" bought the house down. Especially when they cut his microphone on and he started singing live at the end of "Man In The Mirror"...definitely one of the greatest grammy performances of all time.

sad I've never seen the '88 Grammys, just the MJ and TTD performances. I wish Whacksie had sung live throughout the whole performance,. That was pretty lame, but the end was far too stunning to hold the rest against him.

It's highly based around the traditional of same name, popularised by Sam Cooke. So check the original also...

Alright...

There's trouble, baby
in Paradise
Your chicken's trying to slide away from you
You're past your days of harmony
When you call it back - you carouse it through
Keeping your prayers on time
Getting burnin' love in cities you can't recall
He's packin' up and shackin' up
He's leaving home
Chicken feathers and all
To the bridge boys...
Gives you daytime, and the nighttime
Is for these...
Greasy chickens [x2]

(Backing vocals)
Can you stand it by your lonesome baby? [X2]

Say! Dig it!
You're livin' out your closets
You're fined a day and
So are most far behind
You defy the bill collector
With lipstick on it and a Valentine
You've seen worlds of bastards
But, better late than never - you understand
Your chicken didn't leave you for another woman
He left you for a younger man
To the bridge boys...
Push your love on the girls and bastards
And you'll be - a greasy chicken
Ha!

A greasy chicken
Good God! Sing!
A greasy chicken
Good God! Sing it!

(Backing vocals)
Don't you love all your freedom baby?

You're late - Ha!
But it was I who would
Define your soul food
And with your piece of mind
No less denied
No more chicken bones
Share your love jones
Because you fellas
Can't shake the vice
Hee!
My Lord!

Greasy chicken
Big fat, greasy chicken
Sing!

(Background vocals)
Can you stand it by your lonesome baby?

Greasy chicken
Greasy chicken - sing!

(Background vocals)
Don't you love all your freedom baby?

Greasy chicken
Big fat, greasy chicken
Here go gravy!

(Background vocals)
Can you stand it by your lonesome baby?

OH! A little gravy...
Grill a little gravy...
Greasy chicken - lawd!

(Background vocals)
Don't you love all your freedom baby?

U might have mentioned this a while ago, but has anybody ever seen Terence's cameo appearance in this TV movie called "Shake, Rattle, & Roll"? It's set in the 1950's and it's about a fictonal rock & roll band. There's actually quite a few stars in that one, like Mark & Tom of Blink-182 as Jan & Dean and Randy Jackson (yes, the 6th Jackson) as Fats Domino. But Terence plays the immortal Jackie Wilson. His scene was very brief but memorable. He even sings the hit "To Be Loved". Anyone see that?
