Any recommendations?? Tell me who I'm sleeping on.. I realized while I was answering a post on rock voices, that I haven't really been able to 'get into' much of the modern "rock" scene. I'm much more into soul and hip hop, but I can get down with older 'white' artists (can i say white?  ) like Mellencamp, Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, Def Leppard, some GunsNRosestype stuff sometimes. So who should be on my list of new/recent artists to check out?

ladytron self jeff buckley rufus wainwright i don't exactly know how to describe the first two. ladytron is kind of like early 80's synth pop meets electronica meets the 1999 album. self is a great group from tennessee who list p as an influence...right down to them coevering (not sampling) the backwards message on darling nikki...buckley and wainwright are just great artists and you shouldn't be missing out on them. | |

Keep'em comin y'all! Well hey, since you're from Philly then you aslo might as well check Kinderd The Family Soul. I'm not really that crazy about Philly's artist cuz most of them sounds the same(they either want to be Jill or D'Angelo thats it) but Jag, Bilal & Kinderd are def got my support  | |
