Eww~I'm so DISGUSTED! What the #%#^% is Clay Aiken doing on the cover of ROlling Stone!!! Ok yes I'm anti-American Idol as it is, but shouldn't the real winner (Ruben?) be on there? Or perhaps someone with REAL talent like MIchelle Branch (her album is coming out next week i'm pretty sure) who writes, produces and plays her own instruments??? I tried to post a picture here of the Clay Aiken Rolling Stone cover yesterday, but I couldn't get the picture function to work.
I'm also puzzled about why Clay is on the cover of Rolling Stone. His album hasn't even been recorded yet and he was not the winner of American Idol.  | |

Clay really has had every advantage thus far. Releasing those singles at the same time definately hurt Ruben's sales, which ended up being over 100K less than those of Clay's. If I had a gun to my head and had to chose between a Westlife cover (that's what I've read becuase I don't listen to Westlife) and a cover by one of the greatest duos of rock and roll (Simon and Granfunkel), I wonder which I would get? I also think that race played some part in that as old white people got the Clay single in spite of Ruben. I think Clay has been getting more media attention also becuase as a guy from Rolling Stone said "We thought there was a something there, an interesting story". Hmmm..by any chance is the media interested in this guy..I don't know, saying something that might jeoperdize his career. Tear them up and knock them down..and fast! If the previous competition is any indication, Clay and Ruben will star in a romantic comedy next summer. Clay's on the cover of RS because RS panders to whatever will sell magazines. And there's probably money behind it as well. Ruben will see plenty of exposure. PLENTY. It's likely that Clay's cover of RS is because he DOES have talent, just like Ruben - they WERE both the FINALISTS of the damn show, it ain't like they're showing somebody that was knocked off on the first round. I don't think it's a race issue. I think it's that, Ruben will get TONS of exposure now that he's the winner. RS just chose to post the runner up on their issue. Does Clay have to be expelled from any exposure at all now? Are you saying if there's ANY coverage of any singer associated with that miserable show, it HAS to be Ruben? What kinda bs is that? I don't care what you say--AMerican Idol sucks because these finalists and winners are processed artists...Let's see when Kelly Clarkson (Barf to your friggin' miss independent crap!) and Clay Aiken start writing and producing their own music like their peers Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, John Meyer, etc. Have You seen them on the cover of RS??? Clay gets more attention also because he has more personality. I don't know what it is with Ruben (maybe he's shy), but he needs to talk more and show some more emotion. Thank God the AI execs have Clay, or else it would be very boring with just Ruben. | |
