Kelis is back this summer/Autumn with a new single "MILKSHAKE" from the forthcoming album "TASTY"

This is Kelis's first big international album,
and this time around she is branching out with production by the neptunes, Timbaland, Jam and Lewis, p diddy ( now in dance music producer mode) and other european dance producers
Kelis promises this will something speacial and has been working on the record since 2001

It's a trance/soul song it sounded like "I feel love" BY Donna Summer it had that dark, futuristic sound really HOT

p.s Anyone here heard the new Donna Summer song "Beautiful" it's on the radion and she is about to release it (she negotiating with a label for her new album, there is interest becuase this song is meant to be blowing up at the clubs

The song "Beautiful" is NOT on the radio.It has been "leaked" to a few gay nightclubs (without Donna's approval) but there are no plans to release it officially.Donna is pissed that it leaked and she has notified her lawyers.The song was recorded for her 'Angel' album,which has now been aborted.She is no longer a Sony artist and thus,all of her newly recorded songs are collecting dust in the vaults.A new record deal is in the works though,so you never know.

oh yeah she has another new song out now with NAS it's called "POPULAR THUG" the original was on "Wanderland"

I got her first album, really amazing stuff, haven't heard much of Wanderland though. Am I right in thinking that she has reworked the best tracks from that album to ths new one as Wanderland only had limited release?

She's a cool lyrics writer but I don't like her singing at all, it sounds forced.

However, I give her the credit 4 giving the neptunes their breakthrough.

But once again, musicaly? She doesn't do anything 4 me. Hell I'm not even impressed by the neptunes in the 1st place becoz they simply sound to me like a follow-up 2 Timbaland who in my opinion the ORIGINAL of this "sick-funky-twisted-fresh-sound" I personaly think that without him,,there won't be no neptunes

A lot of The Neptunes tracks do sound a like, but then you have those songs like "What Happened To That Boy" or "Frontin'" that sound completely left-field of their usual productions. Startrack are going to pish the album hardcore when they release it
"AMPHIBIOUS" was the offical follow up "KALEIDESCOPE" and "WANDERLAND" but KELIS thought that evey one was doing her style and sound so she wants to take to the next level
so she's ditched those monotonous fools THE NEPTUNES and working with other producers ( do they only own one loop????? and drum track??

Love to see what FLYTE TIME give her, some old school 80's funk

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis can from 'Got till it's gone' to 'Bliss' then gospel then Bryan Admas pop/rock and everthing inbetween
they don't have a sound they do it all really
There is no gimmick sound, I can never tell when it's then
but 'the neputunes' u can here those synthesisers coming a mile away and Pharrel (his the new JD on every track he producers)

I agree. The Neptunes make some ill beats, but Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis are straight up and down virtuosos in every sense of the word. They have produced rock songs, jazz, classic rock, top 40, AC, new jack swing, R&B, rap, house, disco, etc. The Neptunes are still in the R&B/Rap/Hip Hop spear...the farthest they've branched out was N*E*R*D's In Search Of and that still had too many of the "bleep bleep, doop doop" sound in it even with all the live instrumentation.
