Another reason to laugh at Mariah Carey

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Last week I heard on the radio that Mariah's scheduled concert at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul had only sold 800 tickets in two weeks. This is a huge problem as the X is an arena that holds like 15,000 - 20,000 people for concerts.

Yesterday I read in the paper that the concert had been cancelled due to "restructuring" of the tour. I guess restructuring is a fancy word for nobody gives a rats ass about Mariah Carey anymore. How come they will never just say "Cancelled due to poor ticket sales"?

The sad thing is that they promoted this concert pretty heavily as I saw commercials for the concert during nearly ever show I watched for about a week or so.

I think she is done.

But we shouldn't laugh all that hard at her because Prince sold even fewer tickets to his eventualy cancelled Orpheum shows last year.

That's sad indeed sad

I really like Mariah though. The other day,I watched 'Glitter' on DVD and I was thinking,it's not all THAT bad. It's a cool little musical/movie,can't see why the critics slaughtered it the way they did.

I haven't seen the movie, but is it a cool little musical/movie in the way that Graffiti Bridge is a cool little musical movie? Because if it I can see why they slaughtered it.

It's alot better than 'Graffiti Bridge' but that's not saying much,is it? smile

It's a basic rags-to-riches tale, but it has some cool moments. And Mariah looks great in it!

Mariah has brought her downfall on all by her pretty little self. She acts and IS such a bimbo. She's a bigger bimbo than Anna Nicole Smith! If she had've just left well enough alone and stayed away from the implants and other ridiculous stuff she might still be popular. No one takes her seriously anymore. She does have a very nice voice, but she's let herself become such a phoney bimbo that no one cares about anything she does anymore unless it's something we can laugh at.

Add fuel to the fire on this one ...

FOX 2 Detroit morning news picked up a story about Mariah Carey from the fiasco in St. Paul. Seems that a grandmother emailed Mariah's web site to ask if the star can meet up with her granddaughter, who is blind.

The TV station reported that the grandmother recieved a reply back from Mariah, or one of her associates. The email totally DISSED the blind girl.

The email stated Mariah has problems of her own and that she has a relative that has HIV. The email stated do we see Mariah complaining?

TV reports said it was somone from inside the Mariah camp and the record company is getting to the bottom of this.

Whatever. Has been.

The thing too is that it was written in the first person...so whoever wrote it was pretending he/she was Mariah. Maybe she did write it...who knows. shrug

I was thinking the same thing. And I've seen Hollywood actresses that were far worse than her.

I think it's sad Prince had to cancel his shows. Not Mariah. She's crap, always has been - and she looks like a chihuaha.

Yes, Fox News really is a quality network.

ill

(I guess I'm a hypocrite then because I watch it every day. But only because it is the only American news channel we get here in Holland)

We do get CNN here, but CNN is different all around the globe. The anchor people are not American over here, and it focuses on world events, and not just American news, whereas Fox is so American, it makes me hurl sometimes. lol

Harlepolis

As an MC fan, I must admit that she doesn't MOVE me live like she used to back in the day. I came 2 her concert over here in Harlem's Apollo(back in 97) and sistah girl was very much on point, she tore the whole place down.

Nowadays, she's becoming more of a "studio more than live" it hurts but its true.

I still got mad love 4 my babygirl nod

Here's the,,,

ChickenLittle

Mariah's managers overestimated her popularity and booked her into venues that she can't fill. I don't know about Mariah's popularity overseas, but in the U.S., she should probably be booked into venues that have capacity of 3,000 to 5,000 seats.

Hey I can't stand Mariah, but it must really feel awful to not be able to sell out shows like you used to. I kinna feel bad for her. Maybe this will inspire her to make better music...

And I admit, I like the Busta song with her in it redface

Fuck that! She never made music to begin with! She's just a product of other people, a fucking voice box manufactured to make some people a bit of money. This alone I could live with, because there's a ton of shitty pop stars like this. But... just like so many others... she has to turn into a huge ego that thinks she's the greatest thing to happen to music. At the very very least people like Britney Spears seem to acknowledge that they're just an image and nothing more. Mariah was nothing more than an image, but it all went to her head.

I remember reading when she suffered that breakdown, she said it was too stressful to act in a movie and sing on her album at the same time! HAHA! please. Poor girl, I have no sympathy for you.
