New Brian Mcknight song very Princelike.

Once again, Brian Mcknight, a much lesser talent than Prince, has a new song that sounds just like a Prince song. His last album had the hit, Lady Of My Life, that was a great falsetto ballad. Almost a cop of Adore. Now his new album U-turn has a song called, When It Was Cool, which is a real kick ass song. It has a great acoustic guitar opening riff, in the same vein as Crazy You or another guitar song, but also very D'angelo like. Very Princey way of singing and really a well written song. You should all check it out when you have the chance. Sadly, the song is better than anything on TRC lol

dancing jig When It Was Cool.

That's odd: His music is usually very Meshell-like...

If It Was Cool has alot of vibey Rainbow Children in it. It is far beyond better than the album though. But he's followin' Prince's style tho. I think the song is very nice. The little interlude rite after it is cool 2.
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Like Every other Artist Before&After Him He takes things from others who doesn't? Brian Mcknight is a Very Talented One Man Band but He never had His Full Musical Idenity.often sounding like Babyface,R.Kelly,etc.. I Like His First Album&After that He was just Hit&Miss for Me.still dig His wok with Vannessa Williams.

Say what you like about B. McKnight, you know his first LP was the shit for "Never Felt This Way" alone.

EXACTLY nod That song is perfection ("Is the Feeling Gone" was SWEET too). The only reason I have even an ounce of respect for Brian is b/c I remember what he's capable of. Unfortunately, he's been coasting on manufactured adult contemporary drivel from album 2 on... disbelief

What's worse is an article in Vibe a few years back where he's quoted saying his audience can't handle the more complex stuff. That he has a formula that works for him & he sticks w/ it... neutral

I buy that from Him because the Industry doesn't want any Artist to go beyond what is already working.if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.I've heard that from alot of other Artists as well.there are Cats in the Busines that have alot more going on than they lead on but once something hits the Industry says Stop right there&run with it until it dries up&then they look for clones to latch onto it.He has a Very Valid Point there.

Sdldawn

I havent got his new album, cause it seems like he's jumped on the bandwagon with the rest.. crappy appearances by Nelly...half the album is simular to some of his past cd's..

He had it goin on with his first album, that is his best work by far, all this other stuff sounds too much alike..
