That THE-band movement. THE strokes, THE Hives, THE vines, THE Rapture, THE Raveonettes, THE Music, THE Streets, THE Coral, THE D4, THE White Stripes.

Am I forgetting one?

And I do not mean THE Rolling Stones. NEW bands.

And what do we think of them?

It's a hype.

The thing record companies use to make you buy their records.

Copy cats aplenty.

I dig some of them, though. The ones that inadvertently started the hype. Strokes, Hives and White Striped rock.

I bought my first White Stripes album, Elephant, and was quite impressed. They are very cool.

I picked up the new Donnas album though and wasnt too thrilled. They make the Ramones sound sohpisticated.

I avoided all the others though only because the rest of them sound like the flavor of the week.
