You mean George Harrison's wife, Patty Boyd.

The coda is worth it all.

The guitar is amazing, the verses and chorus's are mind boggling, and the ending is very dramatic and pretty. Great piano outro that seems to go on forever--and you wish it would. One of the few great Clapton songs.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Eric Clapton took Patti away from George Harrison, right?
"Something" is about Patti is´nt it?
Talk about a tough relationship 2 save.
Not even a song like "Something" could make her stay

I think you're right.

I wonder who else could claim 2 songs as classic as those being written about them. We know about Patti because Clapton publicly told the world, but in general songwriters don't give such specifics away about who a song is about - and I can't say I blame them.

Musta been quite a woman to inspire those great songs.

Layla first really struck my in "GoodFellas." Scorcese used it as "Piano Exit" in a pivotal scene at the end of the movie. Awesome song.
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark
