I feel ya, RD. One of rock's few rebels with "it" who could actually sing.

I miss him so much. INXS was my first experience outside of R&B music. I would have loved the opportunity to see them live.

I saw them live and was blown away. One of my favorite bands and in the regular rotation.

Been waiting to hear Jon - the only time I've heard him was at the Olympics, and I wasn't impressed, but a live tv performance of somebody else's songs really is an unfair way to measure him.
TTD did KICK some justice - I thought they woulda done good if they kept him in there. But I can't wait to hear Jon. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

Michael was one of my favorite singers of all time. I had the honor of seeing INXS twice with him and I will forever cherish the memories. Jon Stevens is the perfect replacement however, there's only one Michael but Jon adds his own touch without disrespecting the memory of Michael. Pick up Michael's solo album if you haven't already, it's great.

replacing Hutchence? Tha fuck outta here. Call it a day chaps. Just like The Doors on tour with Ian Astbury of The Cult
utterly stupid. Once you lose the lead singer who is charismatic and has been with them from the beginning, just re-friggin-name yourself and do something else.. And dont say well Van Halen did it..he did it because he had no choice..it was his NAME , and anyone can see that they became a quite different band after Roth left. "Climb in my fur."

INXS isn't theat endemic to rock culture. Not as "universal jukebox" as AC/DC. "Climb in my fur."

Well it's definitely not luck. I'm just saying, both bands are from Australia, both bands have brothers writing the songs, both bands, uhh, are 4 letters long, both bands lost the front man, and both bands are power-chord pop rock. (okay, sure, "let me put my love into you babe" is a little more than Pop Rock, but you know...) I think the Fariss boys made that band last longer than 3 albums. Hutchence was a POWERFUL singer, never to be replaced, but give this Jon boy a chance. Everybody said ACDC was dead and buried after Highway To Hell... until Brian Jones proved them wrong. And there HAVE been a few other bands that have enjoyed major success after the lead singer quit... Vanity 6 for instance. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I digress... Did any of you see that mini concert they did on VH-1 right before he died? It was just as Elegently Wasted came out. It's kinda creepy, because he has these glasses on that make him look like Bono, but they performed "Searching" and it just made my heart melt.
What a powerful and soulful voice. He was hella-sexy too; everything a rock star should be. Remember Dogs In Space?
