Did you like blur and 13, their last 2 albums?
I've been a fan from their first album and I must say the change of sound from their previous work was somehow difficult to digest. I hardly play them now.

I just purchased the 'out of time' single, I think this song is not there best but not the worst. Its a real nice sounding song, but it seems a little simple. I can't really complain if blur put something out I just sorta like, these guys have put out so much good music, modern life..parklife..blur selftitled and 13 are all damn good.

I didn't like "Out Of Time" at all when I first heard it. Play it half a dozen times or so and it really does get the hook in you. Trust me on this. The new album is the same - one or two songs stand out immediately, but the rest passes you by in a - well - blur. But then things start to gel and come together on future listens.

I agree - "Blur" and "13" were their best albums until "Think Tank". "Parklife" was ok, but I'm not a fan of much of "The Great Escape", "Modern Life" and "Leisure". I think they were very parochial then. Glad they got hip and expanded their horizons A LOT after 1995. Damon Albarn's "Mali Music" is well worth getting too.

I'll admit, I did have a lot of trouble with 13. I thought it was a brilliant cd, but just couldn't listen to it often. I've been trying it again the past few weeks and really enjoying it.
I've honestly liked everything they've done. Modern Life was a very important cd for me (it was the 1st non-techno cd I bought after being a hardcore raver for a few years, heehee) and I think Parklife was pure genious. The only cd I didn't care for was The Great Escape. I enjoy some tracks on their, but all in all it's a very weak cd. Alright, I'm off to try and find the single!

This is a VERY ODD cd!
So far I'm really digging Out Of Time, Brothers And Sisters, Moroccan Peoples..., Sweet Song and Gene By Gene. Crazy Beat is just plain goofy, and I don't know if I like that track at all...The rest I'm indifferent too... I'm guessing this album will be a lot like '13' for me...it'll take a while to digest, but be well worth it once I do...
