Not [soundtracks], scores:

-Coffy-Roy Ayers(My ABSLOUTE fave!): The eva-so-dreamy "King Goarge" and "Aragon"

-Shaft-Isaac Hayes: Ellies Love Theme is regular backround # in my apartment. I love this piece!

-Foxy Brown & The Mack-Willie Hutch: Ain't That (Mellow, Mellow) is my jam.

-Superfly & Sparkle-Crutis Mayfield: what can I say!

-Black Ceasar-James Brown

-Trouble Man-Marvin Gaye

-Hell Up In Harlem-Edwin Starr

West side story:been fascinated by this
Leonard Bernstein masterpiece since I was 3
Beat street:great childhood memories 2 this 1 as
well.I was about 10 & this opened up a whole new world 4 me.
The last dragon:a great 80´s Motown soundtrack.
A shame though that they all did´nt appear on the album,
like the beatiful track "Give me your love" by gospel
singer "Alfie Silas".
Come back Charleston Blue-Donny Hathaway &Quincy Jones:from 1972.
This soundtrack contains some awsome
instrumentals by Q´s orchestra as well as the original version of "Little ghetto boy"
as well as the beautiful title track with Donny Hathaway & Margie Joseph.
Sparkle:Aretha Franklin.written by Curtis Mayfield.
This 1 contains the classic "Givin´ him something he can feel" but the whole album
& the production is great as well.
I also have 2 say that I really love all of those titles
Harlepolis put down as well.

Funny there was a time when I never paid much attention to the background music in a movie. Then one day I saw a movie that forever has me paying attention. The movie was "The Firm". All it was for the first part of the movie was piano playing. Whomever it was that was playing had me captivated more than the movie. To be honest, I haven't seen the movie since, but that playing stayed with me to this day.

The Virgin Suicides, score done by Air. It's subtle, dark, moody and brilliant. A gorgeous companion to a very dark movie!

Anything by Elliott Goldenthal, he's my favorite, especially Interview with a Vampire and Batman Forever.

Under the Cherry Moon of course...

John Williams' Star Wars stuff always gets me, especially the first 3 movies.

Monsoon Wedding has a great score. I love Indian music.

American Beauty. I love the simplicity of that score.

Ocean's Eleven. Very groovy music.

Director's cut, digitally remastered.

Oh, what a delicious topic! touched

Would definitely have to be "SOUL FOOD" This score has everything: Jazz, funk, soul, pop and classical.

Followed very closely by "Hav Plenty" nod Due to the very "Earthy/Native American Feel".

Of course, Wendy and Lisa batting eyes did the score to both of these as well as others. But, these are my favorite.

whistling Okay, I am leaving now, no need to throw shit! brick

I thought Danny Elfman did Batman? I can't remember the soundtracks to the sequels but I do remember parts of the first. Did they change composers for the sequels? If they did, do they still use the main theme from the original Batman movie? Hmm, I definately liked music on the first one...

Peace!
Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

Moonbeam

1984: For the Love of Big Brother by Eurythmics. It perfectly captures the essence of the terror and haunts with every listen.

Others:

Purple Rain
Edward Scissorhands
Dancer in the Dark

Yeah, Danny did the first two, then Elliott steped in for the second two. I think he used the same main theme, but Elliott got a little jazzier than Danny. He tends to use lots of brass.

"Do the Right Thing"--A time when college was BLISS!
"Yentl" A great love story.
"K-Pax" Touching
"The Adventures of Pluto Nash"--Makes me shake my booty!
"Parade"--The BEST Prince movie (in my opinion),
"Under the Cherry Moon"

...these are off the top of my head and in my heart.
