Update: Luther Vandross remains in critical condition... Vandross Remains in Critical Condition
Thu May 1, 8:29 AM ET NEW YORK - Luther Vandross (news) remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition at a New York City hospital after suffering a stroke. He has been unconscious since he was stricken, unable to speak or open his eyes. A published report quotes a neurology professor at the Mayo Clinic as saying the lack of progress so far indicates the seriousness of the stroke Vandross suffered. James Meschia tells USA Today that unconsciousness is "an uncommon occurrence in patients with stroke." He notes that in many cases, stroke patients are discharged to home or to a rehabilitation center within a week of being stricken. Vandross suffered his stroke two weeks ago yesterday. Vandross has sold more than 20 million albums in the United States alone, and his hits include the love ballads "Here and Now" and "A House Is Not a Home." His new album, "Dance With My Father," is scheduled for release in June. [This message was edited Thu May 1 20:16:35 PDT 2003 by NPD313]

I had no idea Luther had been unconscious for 2 weeks. I don't like the feeling I get after reading that.

I am a mega fan of Luther. He has definitely made his mark as one of the greatest singers of the 21st century, and has graced us with his magnificent voice. He has struggled and fought a tumultuous battle with weight and diabetes, which led to this massive stroke. I continue to pray for his full recovery. God Bless you Luther!!! Lennytunia

I am not making this shyt up...If its not true I will be happy as f**k! So don't tell me about posting... you wouldve too, if you were effected that quickly, by it, but i pray its not true I didn't say you were making it up sweetie. It's just I would find it strange if I only heard this from one station. When a celebrity dies it's all over the place, including CNN. I would have waited until I heard it from more than one source. No, I wouldn't have posted this as quickly. When I saw the title of the thread, my heart sank. I searched online, turned to CNN as well as my local news and heard nothing of the sort. This upset me because I began to think this was a cruel joke. You can devastate people for no reason by doing this. That's all I'm saying.
