Unreleased MJ Songs Found In Abandoned Storage Unit

12 Unreleased Michael Jac...orage Unit

12 unreleased Michael Jackson tracks were discovered by a former California Highway Patrol officer recently in an abandoned storage unit. Gregg Musgrove, 56, was contacted by an associate about a storage unit he bought in the Van Nuys neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley. The unit belonged to music producer and singer Byran Loren at one point, though his current whereabouts are unknown, according to Musgrove.

In the unit, Musgrove found 12 unreleased tracks from the King of Pop that he seemingly worked on between 1989 and 1991, before the release of Dangerous. “I’ve gone to all the fan sites. Some of [the songs] are rumored to exist, some of them have been leaked a little bit,” Musgrove told The Hollywood Reporter. “A couple aren’t even out there in the world.” Among the unreleased tracks, is a song titled “Truth Youth” which is seemingly a rap duet between Jackson and LL Cool J. “I’m listening to this stuff, and I would get goosebumps because nobody’s ever heard this stuff before,” Musgrove continued.

After the Jackson Estate declined to purchase the tapes for unknown reasons, Musgrove explained that they still own the copyright, meaning they likely will never be released publicly.

I really don't get why the MJ Estate wouldn't want to purchase these tapes and clean them up for release. There's a Michael Jackson movie out next year. You'd think that would be the perfect time to release some brand new outtakes. The Prince estate gets a lot of flak, and rightfully so, but at least they actually do release some stuff from time to time.

The estate Doesn't want to buy it because that would mean giving money to the producer Bryan Loren. Hence the fact they release only MJ's home démo instead of finished tracks

No, the MJ Estate is. And we think Prince's estate is bad lol.
This tape is basically free money for them and Loren, but we all know how the MJ estate thinks about sharing the wealth MJ aquired them

It seems like this approach works for the MJ community more than the Prince community, though,

Like most MJ fans only care about those same old hits and same old chart data, it seems like a relative minority that even bring up how much unreleased stuff is buried.

There are so many unreleased tracks from MJ that disappeared.
Teddy Riley did overdubs/ remixes of Monkey Business, Don't Be Messin Around, Streetwalker, etc. to make it more Newjacky style like he did for Dangerous.

MJ asked Rodney Jerkins to do the same with 80 s tracks such as Cheater.
