Justin Timberlake arrested on DWI

Justin-Timberlake.jpg?w=681&h=383&crop=1

People magazine
(among many) reports....

Justin Timberlake was arrested on June 18 for driving while intoxicated in the village of Sag Harbor, located in the prestigious vacation destination of the Hamptons.

The "Mirrors" singer, 43, was in police custody in the Long Island, New York, town as of Tuesday morning, a representative for the Sag Harbor Police Department told PEOPLE, before ultimately being arraigned and released.

The police released a statement later Tuesday detailing Timberlake's charges and conduct at the time of the incident, including that he refused a breathalyzer test and claimed he'd only had one martini. A source told PEOPLE that the multi-hyphenate was arrested on the DWI charges after hanging out at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor.

In a more recent story:

An eyewitness at the Hamptons hotel has confirmed that Justin Timberlake overindulged in alcohol prior to being arrested for a DWI.

He has since been charged to court on one DWI count and cited for not observing a stop sign and swerving between lanes.

Following his release without bail, Justin Timberlake is expected to head to Chicago for two shows as part of his ongoing tour.

The cop didn't know who he was:

Justin said under his breath, ‘This is going to ruin the tour.’ The cop replied, ‘What tour?’ Justin said, ‘The world tour.’”

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

At least he didn't say "Don't you know who I am?" lol

On the one hand, I almost feel sorry for him. But he's an idiot for driving while under the influence so I can't really say I have too much sympathy for him. At least nobody was hurt and hopefully he's learned his lesson for future reference.

And his toxicity in life has continued to play out. He cheated on his wife in 2019, and earlier in their marriage as well, or when they were dating.

He kinda grins and says a few words and gets away with shit. Little blond hair, blue eyed boy from TN just "making a mistake."

He's infused his drug & alcohol habit into his music in subtle ways, I believe. (This is left to interpretation of course. But folks eventually tell on themselves. Even Prince did at one point.)

Is he a terrible person? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe he's fighting more than anyone realizes. It will never excuse toxic behavior like driving drunk, etc. Someone needs to really jerk a knot in his tail and humble him. Let him have his redemption lap in a few years, but goddamn it - put in the work.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I don't know about any habits he may have. I'm not an expert in looking for those kind of signs. But I hope this was just a one off. Sure, he may have made mistakes in the past and none of us are really 100% innocent ourselves in that regard. Like I said, hopefully he learns from it and moves on.

Someone who can do a lot of stuff. Like, Prince, as an example. Singing, dancing, acting, etc.

He lost his dancing ability so 'ole JT's down to about two. He's a duo-hyphenate.

One dodgy looking dance doesn't really mean he's completely lost his ability to dance though lol . I saw him on one of those American talk shows and he was still much the same as he always was. Probably a better singer now but his dancing seemed the same as it did before.

Did you miss the headline, Shelby?

It says:

No ‘swag left’

you don't come back from that.

Anyway losing the swag would be acceptible if his fame wasn't predicated on being an R&B loverman where swag is a pre-requisite. It's similar to how his modern outfits aren't that bad, but compared to the usual R&B swag wear they're absolutely abominable. Like I get losing dancing ability, but how do you lose the ability to dress yourself like he has?

Somebody get this man a Jon B. cassette.

He's in Chicago tonight with the first of two shows. I'm already watching YouTube for anything from the show. eek

So apparently, he's pretty bummed because of the DWI (as he should be), and poor album sales. It's sold 1/10 of what Man of the Woods sold a few years ago. We're talking 41K vs 440K (approx). People have cited poor ticket sales, too, but at least through the first of June, every venue was sold out. So I think people are piling on there.

I'm just sitting back watching the dramz unfold. lol

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Damn, Man O the Woods was a flop, too. The new record/tour have zero buzz, is he playing double-bills with puppet shows and regional productions of The Wiz like Spinal Tap?

Yes, Withering, I read the headline. It looks like it's Justin Timberlake's turn for the media to pile on him. Don't worry, in about 5 years he'll be getting praised for putting out some shit ballad and music "fans" will be crawling all over each other to congratulate him for turning his career around. Meanwhile, it will be someone else's turn to be told that they're finished and have no "swag".

The tour does have a buzz, I'd say. Enough that arenas are being sold out one after the other. He can pull an audience.

The floating stage is a show unto itself. The setlist is well paced, I'll give him that. Some of the arrangements are the same, some have been changed just a bit. Always hard in shows because it's meant to play new material, and not all the audience is always familiar.

The record surely has just disappeared, which is sorta surprising for him considering how Justified, FutureSex/LoveShow, and The 20/20 Experience were.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Nah, he already did that trash ballad comeback shit over 10 years ago with "Mirrors" after he willfully put the kibosh his own singing career for almost a decade focusing on movies.

You only get a certain # of comebacks in society, this is why this moment needs to be held a little more significant to you JT cultists. We're in the midst of the swan song for his 15 minutes of fame. Soak it up and enjoy, there ain't gonna be some Rock & Roll Hall of Fame late-career revival for this one.

"JT cultist" lol

Come on now, Withering Dandy. Can you provide any evidence that I'm a big fan of JT, let alone a "cultist"? I've already stated on here that he doesn't have even one album that I can listen to all the way through without skipping multiple songs.

This is nonsense. He's already had way more than 15 minutes. Diversifying will only strengthen his career because, like everything else in life, his popularity in each field will wax and wane.
