Whats your favorite re-done version of a popular song? I'm not talking remixes I'm talking new vocals/instrumentation and same lyrics.

Songs that come to mind include Janet's "Together Again", I'm reading that Shania Twain made one album in 3 different styles, Roisin Murphy's recent "Machine" album had two versions. Prince was also one for new versions, like Let's Go Crazy Reloaded.

The single version of No One Is To Blame by Howard Jones was re-recorded with Phil Collins on drums & background vocals. It was also on a remix album by Howard called Action Replay. The original version on the Dream Into Action album was different. Although called remixes, New Edition/BBD & Mariah Carey would make versions with different vocals like house/club versions & hip hop mixes. There's a version of Mama Said Knock You Out by LL Cool J called Hot Mix, which has different vocals. Many acts released an alternate language version that I liked (The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Gloria Estefan, Smokey Robinson, Johnny Cash, Julio Iglegsias, Kraftwerk, Sting, David Lee Roth, etc.). Some oldies artists like BB. King & James Brown would re-record some songs several times over the decades, sometimes with a different title (Downhearted aka I Got Some Outside Help I Don't Need). I like James' 1974 version of Please Please Please on the Hell album and the 1976 version of I Feel Good.

I like That Lady by The Isley Brothers. They originally released a different version called Who's That Lady in 1964, when they were still a trio of the older brothers.
