Olivia Newton-John, who soared to international stardom as both a singer and movie star has died.

Olivia's husband, John Easterling, says she died peacefully at her ranch in Southern California Monday morning, surrounded by family and friends. Olivia has battled breast cancer for more than 30 years, and a specific cause of death was not given, although a source close to Olivia told TMZ, "After a 30-year cancer journey, she lost her battle to metastatic breast cancer."

Olivia hit it big in 1971 with songs like "If Not for You," and in 1973 "Let Me Be There." She followed that up with a monster hit, "Have You Never Been Mellow."

Her huge break came in 1978 when she starred opposite John Travolta in "Grease." Her role as Sandy was iconic, as were several songs from the movie, "You're the One that I Want," "Summer Nights," and "Hopelessly Devoted to You."

The movie propelled Olivia to new heights, and she followed it up with movies like "Xanadu."

Olivia's biggest hit was "Physical" in 1981, which stayed at #1 for 10 weeks, breaking all records in the '80s. She remained an environmental and animal rights activist throughout her career.

Olivia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, but it went into remission and it came back in 2013. It went back into remission but surfaced again in 2017.

Olivia, who was British but raised in Australia, married Matt Lattanzi back in 1984 ... they met while filming "Xanadu." They had a child, Chloe Rose in 1986. They divorced in 1995.

She married John Easterling in 2008. He's the founder of Amazon Herb Co. Olivia was 73.

She was such a sweet soul and a great singer. We had the privilege of seeing her in concert quite a few years ago, around 2005/6 or so. She was just amazing, interactive, fun, and spunky.

I remember as a small child going to my dad's parents house. Granddad and grandma had one of those console stereos in the cabinet (where you lift the top). I used to play her records, listening to some of her country music. (This was the very early 70s.)

I think "Twist of Fate" is one of my favorite songs, only because of the pure 80s thrust of it. But gheezus, her catalog is just so varied and big. She will live on in song forever.

So sad. I grew up with her music. She had the sweetest voice. RIP Olivia

This makes me so sad. She was my first favourite singer with 10 or 12 or so. Her 1979 album "Totally Hot" is still one of my favourites. I think no celebrity death has moved me as much since Prince went away. Rest in peace, Olivia. I will forever love you.

Exactly very similar to Marie Frediksson of Roxette who battled cancer for two decades before her death in 2019

I also dont think people realize the diversity of the people she touched and that just really liked her. I have been seeing tons of photos of her with fellow musicians from Rick Springfield, Richard Marx, Elton John, Billy Idol all the way to Bowlegged Lou of Full Force, Terri Nunn and Berlin, so many artists loved her because she was genuine.

Iam a big fan of her 80's work. She made a good stab at it on her album "The Rumour", but by 1988, the fickle pop world had moved on it seemed.

Iam very fond of her limited work with producer David Foster. They were a great match on the OST "Two of a kind". Not a hit single where I live in UK, but "Twist of fate" is still fantastic and shockingly uptempo for a producer known mainly for ballads....they shoulda worked after that alot more but maybe her usual producer John Fararr wouldn't allow it?

Ben's around. He shut down P&R. That coupled with OF4$ got fired, half of everyone just seemed to STFU. Even Bert isn't here anymore, which - don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining.
