A friend of mine used to work for the BBC. One time Will Smith was on the Graham Norton show and my friend was tasked with greeting him at the studio. She was a big Will Smith fan so she was pretty excited about it. Until she actually met him. He behaved like a complete prick. Warning producers not to make certain jokes and not to mention some of his recent box office failures. Then threatening not to do the interview at all unless they gave his son a big spot on TV. After it was all done and he was leaving he didn't say goodbye to anyone and threw a little hissy fit when he was told he'd have to walk 50 yards to his car and said something like "I'm the biggest star on the planet and you're making me walk?" or words to that effect. So yeah, like I said, he's a prick. And something like this was always going to happen. Just so long as the person making the joke is smaller than him. Because he was very fucking quiet it was 50 Cent. Honestly couldn't the same thing be said about Chris'? He wouldn't have said that about "insert big burly tough guy's" wife? They both took a shot at a convienent target. Chris knew about the Laverne Cox incident and all the other stuff that lead up to that reaction. But he did say it about a "big burly man's wife". In case you haven't noticed, Will Smith is not a small man. He's certainly bigger than Chris Rock is. Besides, lots of comedians have made jokes about people who are bigger than they are. Ricky Gervais made plenty about Mel Gibson. Now, Mel Gibson could easily slaughter Ricky Gervais if he chose to. But he didn't. He accepted the jokes for what they were. Jokes. He didn't act like a bitch about it like Will Smith did.

It wasn't even a month ago that Laverne shoved that mic in their face and asked what she asked Jada tryng to be funny on some other red carpet event and social media was wondering why Will didn't do anything. Folks get selectively dim. I'm even hearing the joke wasn’t even on the list of approved jokes it was ab libbed. AND Chris was cracking jokes about Jada at the 2016 Oscars he hosted. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Rick told a good joke though. "I'm proud to announce that this is the most diverse and progressive Oscars ever. Looking out I see people from all walks of life. Every demographic under the sun. Except poor people, obviously. Fuck them." Time keeps on slipping into the future...

I mentioned 50 Cent because someone else here mentioned him first. But that wasn't even the point I was making. My original point was about Will Smith being an entitled little prick. And a pussy. My problem with him being an entitled little prick is that he feels it's ok to get out of his seat at the Academy Awards and slap someone for making a joke. And he probably went back to his seat thinking that he's get away with it because of who he is. Which, unfortunately, he probably will. But he should never have raised his hand and had he instead just walked up and politely asked Chris Rock not to make those jokes, I'd have applauded him for it. My problem with him being a pussy is that once he'd decided to get up and confront Chris Rock, why give him an open handed slap like a bitch? If it really brothered him that much, why not go for broke and punch Chris Rock? I'll tell you why. Because Will Smith is a coward who traded in his bollocks years ago and the only reason he got up at all at the Oscars was because Jada let him borrow his own balls so he can be seen to be defending her honour.

In general, people don't really stop working with anybody. Charlie Sheen still has a career. When he got fired from 2 And A Half Men, he got another sitcom soon after. Woody Allen & Roman Polanski still make movies. Phil Spector always had a bad reputation, yet he had a long career. Phil fired a gun during a recording session with John Lennon in the 1970s. Unless they say something negative about Oprah like Mo'nique. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Janet Hubert defends Will, and she had talked trash about him for 2 decades. But they had made up about a year or 2 ago. Black folks defending this shit.....fucking pathetic. She's probably a member of the "you go gurl" crowd. Defending the "honor" of a woman who has none.
And since when is she a celebrity? [Edited 4/18/22 11:59am]

I think a few are just stating that Chris Rock has abit of an attitude himself. Was a shit joke he made. Not saying I agree with what Will did, but GI Jane? Mighta been relevant in the 90's but today?
I do agree Jada has some amazing hold on Will. Mr Smith could have any 20 year old goin' but ? Lol

Janet ain't fooling nobody. If Will didn't call a truce last year when he invited her to the Fresh Prince reunion last year she would still be talking shit about Will and would have been team Chris Rock. Hell she even talked shit about Jada in 2016 boycotting the Oscars and talked trash about their marriage. Sit down Janet. Don't laugh at my funk
