CBS Mornings: Doug E. Fresh pays tribute to Go-Go Music

CBS Mornings interviewed Doug E. Fresh about go-go music, and how it plays into rap and hip-hop.

Video here.

Go-go music got its start in Washington, D.C., where it remains popular. But now it can be heard in some chart-topping hits, and it is the focus of a tribute album by rapper Doug E. Fresh. Michelle Miller has more.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Trouble Funk were the band behind Kurtis Blow's second best song If I ruled The World and were heavily sampled by NYC hip hop, the connection is there indeed.

This post has been modified from its original thought. It has been formatted to fit into the space and run in the time allotted.
