Worth checking out: Jett Rebel

Dutch orgers definitely know this guy. But it’s time people abroad get to know him.

He is a multi-talent, writing, arranging, composing, producing and performing his own albums (sounds familiar)
Very productive (sounds familiar): 7 studio albums, one EP, 2 live albums since 2014
Great live performances (sounds familiar)

Influenced by The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Beach Boys, Todd Rundgren, Elvis Presley among others

See Wikipedia for more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/...Jett_Rebel

And check him out on your favourite streaming platform

I sincerely doubt you ever listened to one of his albums or have seen him live.
Because if you would have, you wouldn't make such stupid remark.

He's one of the best things coming from the Dutch music scene in the past 20 years.
I happen to know him (a bit) personally.
He lives and breathes music. It's the only thing in his life.
He's as productive as Prince was, he also writes & composes all his music, plays all instruments on his albums, does produce them himself.

If he was a wanna be poser, he wouldn't been asked by Hall and Oates to produce their new album.

Here's something 4 UR education. Real music by real musicians: https://youtu.be/l8HJRlTQXuU

I have a informed opinion. I listened to his eye roll inducing shitty music and was sadly exposed to his boring and lifeless live act (which was also the opinion of most people who have seen this guy live)
Just because does everythig himself (badly) and you know him personnaly doesn't mean he is good. And please stop comparing him to Prince.
If this is the best we in Holland have to offer then our music scene is even worse than the garbage it has been in for the last 3 decades.
That real music by real musicians mantra doesn't mean anything (see Prince/Carmen Electra)

Boring & lifless live act?
You definately haven't seen him perform live. He goes on for hours.
30 December 2015 even for 4,5 hours in a sold out Paradiso.

His live act is that shitty, that when Hall & Oates had seen him live and heard his music wanted him to produce their new album. rolleyes

Saw him live on Lowlands and Pinkpop and had to leave (along with a thousand others who didn't need his pretentious act and mediocre to plain bad music).
I'm guessing you haven't seen much live acts if you think he is that great (and by the way long shows don't mean good shows) and his last Paradiso show was also reviewed to be a boring snoozefest.
And Hall and Oates are great on there albums but there live shows are also quite mediocre. but if you like boring shows like that then good for you just don't pretend as if he's that great or even good.

Hmmm, yeah... riiiiight.

I used to live in Landgraaf, the town where Pinkpop is held.
Been there almost every year. Worked there in the late 80's early 90's and have been there as visitor after that.
Frequent visitor of the North Sea Jazz festival, when it was in the Hague and now in Rotterdam.
My wife used to work in a wrecka stowe in the 80's and 90's, so we have an over-average interest in music.
Seen several acts live. From Main stream pop acts to swing beat acts, funk, jazz... almost everything except classical (although we went to Verdi's Aïda in the amphitheatre in Verona), hard rock and Techno.
World acts and amateur cover bands.

And to MY OPINION, Jet Rebbel is one of the better, more entertaining ones.

There is a group of 10-15 Dutch hard core Prince fans, which know eachother since the 80's and have been to many Prince performances throughout Europe, who visit almost every JR concert they can.
They probably are wrong too, right?
