R.I.P. Chucky Thompson Hip-hop/r&b producer died from COVID. The Washington D.C. native got his start playing the congas with Go-Go music legend Chuck Brown and The Soul Searchers, before finding his way to Bad Boy. In addition to his hits with Diddy and Bad Boy, Thompson churned out hits for Tevin Campbell, New Edition, TLC, Busta Rhymes, Juvenile, and Mary J. Blige to name a few.

He produced so many great songs. Especially for Mary J.Blige, NAS and Biggie. May he rest in peace.

Rest in Peace. He produced all of Mary's best stuff, IMO. Even if it was ONE track, it would be the best thing on the album. Great at making a track sound a lot like a sample when the master could not be cleared. | |
