Madonna's New Concert Documentary

ME217BI_o.jpg

07/15/21

Madonna has announced a new concert documentary chronicling her Madame X tour. The film, also titled Madame X, will be available to stream on October 8 via Paramount+.

Madonna released Madame X in 2019. The concert film is directed by Ricardo Gomes and includes footage of 48 on-stage performers including Madonna’s children, musicians and dancers from around the world, and the all-female Orquestra Batukadeiras.

“Sharing my vision with global audiences has been profoundly meaningful to me,” Madonna said of the film in a press release. “The opportunity to bring its message and the incandescent artistry of all involved to an even wider audience comes at a time when music is so deeply needed to remind us of the sacred bond of our shared humanity.”

I'm super happy this show is coming out, finally. The tour got stunted due to the scandemic panemic. And since cell phones were made to be put away at the shows, there is little footage (other than the whole mini-show at Pride).

I really enjoyed Madame X. It was her BEYONCE, a very non-Madonna album. It was refreshing after the shit show that was all things Rebel Heart. Sorry not sorry, not livin' for it. At. All.

I've still not purchased the Rebel Heart Tour on bluray or anything else. But I do plan to get this Madame X Tour show. I just watched MDNA Tour the other day and it made me anxious for new M tour footage. This fits the bill.

One thing I like about Madonna is she always does things like this for her tours.Usually it's a DVD/blu ray of the show with a few extras thrown it.It's a fun souvenir if you attended the show,or just a great thing for a fan to have if they've never seen it.

Looking forward to her biopic that's also being prepared now.

I'm happy to see Madonna fans in Prince dot org. I love both Prince and Madonna and I often feel like I'm the only one. I know Prince fans that don't care for Madonna and vice versa. Peace ✌️

Same. I think it has a lot to do with age. I was born in 1979, so by the time I'm upright and paying attention these two are everywhere. Also, they're both really good at the whole making-music-pop star thing, if for different reasons.

I am very excited for this - Madame X is my favourite Madonna Album after Erotica - it is a wonderful piece of Art. Both Madonna and Prince will always be my "Top Two" cannot imagine my life without their music in it.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

I saw this show in London and it was really enjoyable and different to what she’s done before. Can’t wait to see it again as hardly any footage has emerged from these shows which is good. It was so enjoyable to go to a concert and there be no phones obstructing or distracting!

I’m more interested in what her next move is musically speaking. I remember how she used to fill in the gaps between studio albums with soundtrack singles. Those were the days.

Aw those really were the days! Masterpiece was the last one and won an academy award!

Also looking forward to the next album and tour

Amen to that!

I had my London show date for Madame X cancelled ... I totally understand why, but it killed all enthusiasm for the project for me, and I wasn't keen on the album as it was. Its a shame, as the M albums I've been lukewarm on have been rescued by the subsequent tour ... I was curious to see if that would be the case this time.

I'll check this out to see what I missed, but I'm more interested to see what her next music project will be. I was hoping a couple of years back she might grab hold of the snythwave sound that was bubbling under, but that boat has sailed now and if she did it she'll be behind the curve.
