I'd agree that it is not classic soul, but it's certainly a huge forerunner in the New Jack realm. Things like "Every Little Step" and "My Prerogative" set the NJS standard. (This, after "Nasty" opened new ideas that became NJS as we know it.) "  don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r." |
