Love the new album, my favorite tracks are "Live in the Dream" and "The Melting of the Sun". I really think she's a unique songwriter who studied every era of music and knows the greats (from Bowie to David Byrne, Prince...) and that shows in her music. With that being said, her self-titled St. Vincent album is just immaculate. Holy shit. I've never heard music so intricate and personal like that in my life.

Love Love the production. It's so interesting, I discover some new detail on every new listen.

I've enjoyed all her work up to now, some albums more than others, but have little interest in this new album; if I want to listen to the 70s i'll put on the 70s. Not saying there's been a drop in quality or anything, it's just wholly unoriginal and gimmicky. I might come back to it in a few years and appreciate it more but i'm not bothered with this album cycle.

For what it's worth my fav albums by her are Actor and Masseduction, read into that as you see fit.
