These Two Should Be The King and Queen of Pop Music! They are criminally under rated considering how perfect their records can be. Thank God for technology in that it has gained them an audience despite the fact that, to me, they don't get the push they deserve compared to others I just don't see it for like Selina Gomes and Olivia Rodrigo. > Troye Sivan
Sivan has had a couple songs that kinda got recognition, and despite getting a prime Saturday Night Live spot, most people still don't know who he is. Which is a shame because his songs are perfect pop confections. And "The Good Side" should be standard karaoke fare. "My My My" https://www.youtube.com/w...5TqNsr6YuQ > "Take Yourself Home" https://www.youtube.com/w...niYWYmNXiM > "Lucky Strike" https://www.youtube.com/w...QsYn0j-7JQ > "The Good Side" https://www.youtube.com/w...ay4S61byZo ------------------------------------------------------------------- Carly Rae Jepsen Jepsen fell off my radar after "Call Me Maybe" was played into oblivion. I didn't reintroduce myself to her until I heard a song called "Run Away With Me" on an episode of "Mr. Robot" that had me asking who is this? I was pleasantly surprised to find out that not only was it her but that she was still putting out music and shockingly that it was good and unheard. Little did I know she has this cult-of-Carly thing going on where listeners fanatically follow her and give her a Queen moniker (don't tell the beyhive). Perfect pop! This generation's biggest drug besides attention has to be hype. We're so damn quick to make something sound or buy into something being bigger and better than it is it's laughable. [Edited 6/13/21 11:33am]

Honestly are the songs I posted not as good as what you'd consider a strong pop song? Should they be shunned from radio?

Oh no no no not for me but each to their own. I noticed he sings a move song to a boy not heard that before a gay song mainstream, good for him.
