Bill Maher's horrible take on new music.

The reason only one percent of artists are big is because--get ready--they are better:

Just rap alone disproves his tripe. Most great raps are being ignored for trap beat, mumble rap shit.

In a sane world Killer Mike would be the number one rapper. We have rock bands here like Wussy that get fucked. What about great foreign music? Palestinian rap is great. Muslim music, Bossa Nova. Portugul music. Remember how great Prince was in the 90s?

Sure Sananda sucks now but he didn't always...lol

Rahsaan Patterson, what about him? bah.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

The purpose of the rant was not a take on music, music is what it always was, but now the fact that everyone thinks they are stars and artists and deserving is the problem this was not a rant on talent please, look at the first thing said a million and a half people in a sixteen month span put out music, forty thousand tracks a day uploaded to Spotify sorry but that is a problem with this new gig economy where one day someone acts the next they are an influencer the next they sell real estate the next teach yoga and spiritual BS then they tie that in with their new single that is all they ever wanted. That's what this was about. And the point about the gatekeepers being gone is correct, that's why YOU the listener choose it, if it's shitty talent that's another discussion, but you can't say now that the music is hard for you to find, you didn't want labels deciding good now you got forty thousand tracks a day and 99% are from artists doing it for a quick check and on to the next gig in their economy.

And let's remember digital streaming is a rental service they don't care who the singer is who the artist is if they killed someone last week, can they make the company money do they have a beat that will suck in people, good upload it. We act like people and these services care about what is good played musicians etc...
