If the music doesn't move me, how does that make me old?

I dig H.E.R., Ro james, and a handful of artist under 30.

Whar does that mean? There is no age limit 2 making good music.

The artist on this list ia a word? WACK.

i don't like all the acts on that list, either.

But, i'm not angry about it...

Who is angry about it?

I have never done this exercise, maybe I do need to start compiling a list. But there seems to be a ton of music I like from shows, many that I've actually taken the time to look up are not from commonly known artist. It has me wondering if shows and movies are today's platform to finding music as opposed to radio or charts?

I Shazam movies and series all the time when I hear something interesting! But the best way to find new music for me is Youtube. Sometimes I get lucky and find something in the suggestions that Tidal offers. IMO in the last 5 years a lot of interesting new artists have appeared compared to the 15 years before that. I listen to plenty of young artists nowadays, where in general I used to stick to older 'legacy' acts in the last 20 years.

Sometimes I've come across interesting music on YouTube but Im finding more often I'm hearing a lot on shows. I guess it depends on what I'm watching.

I want to like it, and I suppose it’s decent for what it is, but there’s a corniness that Bruno Mars brings to everything he does that detracts from it. It’s like he’s a talented Saturday Night Live member whose performances are half homage and half pastiche.
Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

It seems to me that many people on this site don't like much of anything, old or new. lol Especially if it's commercially successful. The record business or just entertainment in general would have long been extinct if it was depending on these folks. razz I guess they don't realize that the Justin Biebers & Drakes help fund the records of the acts who have less mainstream appeal.

All music is good to somebody or people wouldn't buy and/or listen to it. Just because something is good to you, does not mean it is good to another person.

Apparently it does, since you have gone into Madonna threads to say you don't like her music and she has no talent. I don't go into threads of people I don't like to comment on them. You'll never see me posting in a D'Angelo thread. lol In the same way, I only make threads of performers and music I like. Not threads about "so-and-so sucks" or "the worst ever".

Pop music is just short for "popular music" on Top 40 radio. It's not really a sound itself. In the 1920s & 1930s, big band jazz was pop music. In the late 1950s, doo wop was pop music. In the 1970s, disco was pop music. Today hip hop is pop music. That's why performers in genres such as R&B, country, glam metal, or Latin were said to crossover to Top 40 aka pop. Top 40 is the mainstream audience. It's not a segregated radio format like AOR, R&B, easy listening, dance, alternative rock, etc.

Plus, he showed me how to make a grilled cheese sammich in the toaster.

i, for one, think the dude is alright.

With all due respect but, Justin's music is like unmarinated meat, fucking bland. lol And it's okay, you can love that song, but shitting on Bruno Mars at the same time is just so ironic.
