"Every Time You Go Away" - best version?

So since it's popular lately to do this, I realized there are a few covers of the Hall & Oates song, "Everytime You Go Away."

It was not a single for H&O back in the day, from their Voices album, but was a hit for Paul Young. There are a few other covers.

Oddly, H&O spelled "Everytime" wrong, and Paul Young wrote it as it should be in this case.

Hall & Oates | Paul Young | Gloria Gaynor | George Benson & Al Jarreau | Susan Wong

I kinda dig Wong's mellower version of it (not that the others aren't mellow AF).

Bonus: A live clip from Elton John, George Michael, and Paul Young. I think this was LiveAid? But let's keep the judging to the 5 studio versions above.

Paul Young.

.

I love his voice and music, he does some great versions of "Oh Girl" by the Chi lites and Marvin Gayes "Whereever I lay my hat, thats my home".

.

I bought a 5 pack of his albums and at least 4 of them are great.

His 1983 debut "No Parlez' is one of the best ever.

I got plenty good loving for ya baby

Never knew it was a hall and Oates song, will have to check it out. I love the song though and performed it a couple of times at events over 10 years ago

It'll always be a Paul Young song to me. Another string to the bow of Hall & Oates though.

Isn't that the one where Hall made a comment about "this is how it should be done" or something? Snarky fuck.
