He put out "Triumph" with his brothers in 1980 and in 1981, they put out a live album so I assume that he toured with his brothers. Andy is a four letter word.

I would have been the first to purchase tickets to see that man at his peak. Thriller tour? Can you just imagine Michael Jackson at his peak doing a Thriller tour singing underrated songs like Baby Be Me, Lady In My Life, PYT?!?? I wish he sang those songs live, even I Can't Help It

I think a lot of people don't know that Jermaine has released more albums than Mike & Janet. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Because he made that Thriller money. He could afford not to do anything. From 1969 to 1982, Mike was on an album every year, multiple albums in some cases during the Jackson 5 days on Motown. He also had guest appearances on others records during that time (Stevie Wonder, Kenny Loggins, Minnie Riperton, Roberta Flack, etc). The brothers toured more often in the 1970s too. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I wish he sang those songs live, even I Can't Help It Triumph tour and Victory tour. He still had obligations to his family. And I don't think those songs would have translated well on stage for performing. Not in an arena or stadium setting. But yeah, shame he never sang Lady in my life live anywhere.

Prince throughout the 80s was ridiculous. Dirty Mind, Controversy, 1999, Purple Rain, SOTT are considered are considered some of the best albums of all time. But after the 80s yeah I'd give it to Michael Jackson. Prince in the 90s was a joke

There is way less filler material on MJ albums than on Prince albums. And Thriller and Bad are also among the best albums of all time.

An album is an album. You can go to the record store and buy a record/tape of stand up comedy, speeches, poetry, sound effects, etc. The Grammys give out an award for spoken word albums. The OP does not say "music album", it says rank his albums. E.T. is an album. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Ah. It's EmmaMcG. Nevermind her. Hahaha, perhaps you're right. But to answer Cal3's question, I really don't like Paul McCartney's voice. I don't know if you're aware, but I've mentioned in other threads that my uncle is a priest. Well, my uncle is like a direct mix of Paul McCartney and Cliff Richard. Singing voice, looks, everything. Cliff Richard and Paul McCartney's lovechild. I'm sure of it. So I always associate both artists with try-hard, uncool old-man-who-thinks-he's-a-young-man type of stuff. Priest music. I know it sounds like a weird reason but there it is. . Props to you!!! . That is the most uniquely personal reasoning I have EVER heard! . And I say that as a Paul McCartney maniac. I’ve been informed that my opinion is worth less than those expressed by others here.

i agree ,he didn't have balls to develop as an artist,he become obssesed with selling more units of every new release than Thriller. The only thing changing was that ballads got more cheesy, rock songs got heavier, beats go bigger so going to extreme was what Mike was aiming for,and he didn't have a home studio.how strange is that? And how come he never wanted to learn an instrument?imagine what a funky keyboard or guitar player he could have been

He was credited with instruments on blood on the dance floor and unbreslable though I think it was probably just for percussion and playing some keyboard with direction

but everytime see Michael get a credit for playing instrument you also see like 3 or 4 additional players listed so even if he played you don't know which part. George Michael played synth on Everything She Wants and he was the only synth player on the song so you can tell how good he is,but Michael? He is credited with playing guitar on Morphine along with Slash.

Talk about a disappointment. Michael was at the biggest point of his career at this time and they had hyped that album up so much prior to that release and then when we got it, most of the album was just blah. Andy is a four letter word.
