Ah. It's EmmaMcG. Nevermind her. Hahaha, perhaps you're right. But to answer Cal3's question, I really don't like Paul McCartney's voice. I don't know if you're aware, but I've mentioned in other threads that my uncle is a priest. Well, my uncle is like a direct mix of Paul McCartney and Cliff Richard. Singing voice, looks, everything. Cliff Richard and Paul McCartney's lovechild. I'm sure of it. So I always associate both artists with try-hard, uncool old-man-who-thinks-he's-a-young-man type of stuff. Priest music. I know it sounds like a weird reason but there it is.

You're a troll because you keep saying the same bullshit in every thread and completely ignore any kind of recommendation that may change your opinion on the "state of modern music". Which I don't buy because if you were really as old as you claim, you probably wouldn't act like a stubborn child. Which leaves us with two possibilities. You are either an actual 60-whatetver year old man with the brain of an adolescent or you're just a lonely loser trolling a Prince fansite for kicks. Or perhaps a combination of the two. Either way, you're really annoying and I'm going to join the handful of others on here who are already ignoring everything you post. Wow. Diss track of the year right here lol. Only flaw is you failed to mention that the 90s had good music to trigger a meltdown. As for the topic at hand: Bad Thriller Dangerous Off The Wall HIStory Invincible I don't consider his posthumous releases true MJ albums. Haven't listened to Invincible all the way through either but even his worst was not bad at all.

This is the whole classic "There is good music out there but you have to look harder" has been said to death and quite frankly it isn't true you kids can call us "boomers" or "trolls" or whatever you want but it doesn't change the fact on how bad music is today. Once upon a time good music was on the radio or even on MTV or clubs, or through talk shows. Did you know that? Probably not. Not my fault you can't handle facts about the state of music industry of today. You kids call anyone a "troll" for telling it how it is. Most "recommendations" you people offer turns out to be a huge let down 90% of the time from artists who are just copying previous shit. But continue the piss fit, doesn't bother me either way. Before I joined this thread and I would read it before you were always the miserable kid crying and moaning. So not surprised by this response. Get over it kid. [Edited 12/17/20 8:14am] [Edited 12/17/20 8:18am] [Edited 12/17/20 8:26am] Wow, so many edits. Couldn't decide on how to respond? Perhaps you really are just a lonely old headcase and I struck a nerve. And you needn't have bothered because I didn't even read it all anyway. Just skimmed through it and seen that you keep calling me "kid" as if it's an insult LOL. Very hard to type on phone... You didn't hit any nerves but I can tell my post's throughout the past week or so have been getting to you though... I mean why else would you get pissed off? Yeah of course you didn't "read it." Lol. Calling someone a kid isn't an insult... At least wasn't a once upon a time. Continue the crying [Edited 12/17/20 15:02pm]

I wish MJ would have put out more albums. Anyone know why he didn't do more albums? Especially would have been awesome if he put out 1 between Thriller and Bad.

Yes I’m a big fan, he was working on songs as early as 84/85 but I think he was also busy with we are the world and making captain eo and trying to avoid overexposure.

If I could chime in here, another reason MJ didn't drop more albums was because he didn't need to nor did he want too. Specifically, genuine blockbuster albums back then had longer hit cycles which gave them longer shelf lives. Thriller dropped near the tail-end of '82 but it's final single was released in '84 and the album itself didn't even drop out of the Top 10, let alone the Top 100 albums for several months following. He still had a wave to ride and he didn't stop until it finally washed ashore. This brings me to why he didn't want to release another album. By the time Thriller cooled off, most people were good on him for a while. They had their fill of Michael Jackson, at least in terms of his own music so he saw fit to fall back aside from a few projects unrelated to his own solo work. After being gone for long enough, people began to miss him and demand increased again which is when he would deliver the next project.

People didn't have their fill of MJ back then--they wanted more. I think if he hadn't committed himself reluctantly to the Victory tour to appease his family there would have been a follow up album much sooner. People were wondering why he didn't tour behind Thriller, which is what fans wanted. So we went for what we could get. I remember I tried like hell to get tix for the first concert in Kansas City and couldn't get hold of any for love nor money. I was bitterly disappointed and mad about how difficult the ticket purchasng process was for that event... If Michael had toured in 1983 for Thriller,it would have been incredible! “The Thriller World Tour 1983”....it would have been a completely sold out, highly successful tour.

From what I remember, he was one of the first to milk an album for all it was worth before releasing another one. Back then, most artists made an album per year. Every now and then, they may have skipped a year, but most of them put out an album almost every year. Even Michael himself, between "Off The Wall" and "Thriller", he had an album with his brothers. I think the mass success of "Thriller" is what ruined him. They drug that album out for so long. Other artists that had albums come out the same time as "Thriller" already had another album out before they stopped milking it. Then he got to where every time he put an album out, he just had to get all these damn guest artists on it so I'm sure that took time too. Andy is a four letter word.
