Candy Shop-Madonna vs. 50 cent

Which one do you prefer and why?

I'd missed this one. It's real funny cuz I've always made the connection on account of both songs titles. I like Fiddy' s track better, but I also like Madonna's. Aside from the title, the songs are so disparate.

The songs are a good example of how someone who was once at the forefront of pop in terms of pushing the envelope is rendered unedgy by the directness of rap.

The song grew on me and I think it’s one of her favourites cause she does it on her tours, as opposed to her 80s material which is the best

Which one do you like best: One Day in your Life (MJ) or One Day in Your Life (Anastasia)?

It's actually an entire different song. Both share the same title, but Anastasia's an uptempo song with a different attitude, not plaintive at all.

Although amongst the Madonna fan community 'Candy Shop' is loathed, mostly due to Madonna's preference to perform it on 3 consecutive tours (Sticky & Sweet, MDNA & Rebel Heart) I personally love this song. It's fun and cheeky and I love the vocals on it. I particulary like the 2012 MDNA Tour version that moves away from R&B to Deep House, completely changing the vibe. Mixing in bits of 'Erotica' also make it more steamy. I also think it's a song that has had great choreography each time it has been performed. It's a groove!

I don't like 50 Cent so can't comment on his song, sorry.

It’s fun for sure, but not as great as other songs on the hard candy album though fitting at the same time with the theme

I love the live versions. Its so catchy and sexy. She has not really had a song like that in a long time since "Secret" or "Human Nature"....thankfully we got "Holy Water" also after.

I think Madonna did some good work with The Neptunes. I dig that one and also "She's Not Me" with Wendy on guitar.

Didn’t realize Wendy was on guitar, no wonder something about it was prince like! Hard candy is one of her best albums

Facts. Top 10 especially after her last three releases. Hard Candy standing the test of time. They Madonna elitists was giving her shade for doing r&b head first but look at them now. Ashy.

She always did well with r&b(madonna, like a virgin, bedtime stories) so naturally she would turn to it again for hard candy

It was work with Pharrel Williams, not The Neptunes... If Chad Hugo was involved the tracks might have been better than the Timbaland/Danja material...

Both invite us to imagine their genitals as sweet, tasty treats, so to that end, I'm much more comfortable with listening to Madge sing about her sticky walls and such. Fiddy's oafish euphemisms get so lazy in the end, like he lost interest in the concept he was instructed (or the ADHD kicked in). "She poolin mah zippa down n shit now", the guy was just in way over his head with candy metaphors for puss 'n pork swords and poetic syntax, he could not sustain it with his limited faculties.

music I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world. music
