Best Beyoncé album of the decade Which Beyoncé studio album do you like the best from the past 10 years? 4 Beyoncé Lemonade I think 4 is really underrated and I love it for its old school r&b vibes

(Michael Jackson eating popcorn gif here) I was enthralled by her self titled 1 when it first came out, I liked a few songs from 4, Lemonade not so much. For all time I am with you, you are with me.

BEYONCÉ was the most non-Beyonce thing she'd ever done, and that's why it was her best album. She tried to continue that on Lemonade, and frankly it's not a bad album at all. The plus of both of these records is that they don't rely on just a sample and singing acapella over it.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Thanks for sharing that, your frame with the name on it sounds cool! I didn’t realize single ladies had a sample, thought it was original though it shouldn’t surprise me

Yeah true, there isn’t any buildup in it but still a good song though I skip it these days. Have to be in the right mood for it

Beyoncé. I think this is her best album ever. However, I do think that Lemonade was a good album as well. Those are the only two albums of hers that I ever listened to more than twice.

As I'm in the midst of being more open-minded about (modern) music, I may have to give Beyonce's latest albums a shot even though my better judgment is saying not too.
She's much more hype than the actual talent or star power she's touted for but even overhyped names gotta have some good to offer. [Edited 1/25/21 19:04pm]

Some of it has an old school r&b vibe and she carries it well

The-Dream is her best songwriter:
"Single Ladies" "Partition" "Love on Top" "1+1" "Flawless" "XO" "Schoolin' Life" etc. [Edited 1/25/21 16:30pm]

yah. His Mariah material is best tho. . Here's his demo of "1+1": https://www.youtube.com/w...ugI-GKvUjs . Lil autotune but anything's better than those Beyonce vox. She's always yelling over the track. Even her genuine R&B ballads, genuinely soulful songs always got her yelling with zero nuance. [Edited 1/27/21 2:00am]

I agree that she yells too much though I do like her voice. It’s hard to sing her songs for that reason

She is vocally gifted but she lacks the soul an R&B powerhouse like her should have. Whitney and Mariah with their "schmaltziest" songs easily, easily outsoul Beyonce's grittiest numbers. Shoot, Janet who doesn't have half a quarter of Beyonce's vocals has multitudes more soul and emotional depth in her singing. [Edited 1/27/21 21:00pm]

Mariah's the gold standard when it comes to being able to perfectly balance/know when to use overt bombast vs. laid-back soulful R&B restraint. She can belt it or she can smooth it out with the best of both approaches equally... Beyonce's got one mode whether it's dance, ballad, pop, etc.

Yeah, I know she doesn’t really contribute much in terms of writing, but still turned out good vocally and melodically...thanks for the pass hehe
