Anyone know what an HDCD is?

I having been looking for info but can not find any.

High Definition CD (actually technically the CD here stood for Compatible Digital rather than compact disc)

It is/was an attempt to create a high quality audio CD like Super Audio CDs (SACD) that would also work in normal CD players.
