Terry Callier - Just As Long As We’re In Love Thanks to RJOrion for recommending this (re: the Charles Stepney discussion), I’ve listened to this album twice since then but I always got stuck in this song. The more older I get, the more I feel the healing quality of Charles Stepney’s work and this song is definitely an example.

...yes sir.... perfect example of that full. ethereal sounding, Norther Chicago Soul that Charles Stepney was so great at playing and producing... Chess/Cadet Records was so blessed to have this man in their employ... same for EW&F, whose leader, Maurice White unfortunately and sadly did not properly credit or compensate Mr. Stepney or his surving family members, for Charles' contributions to EW&F, The Emotions and Deniece Williams music during his time working with Maurice producing those acts... Mr Stepney's daughters were VERY upset with how Maurice and EWF in general, acted after Charles passed during the production of their "Spirit" album...
Charles Stepney to Earth Wind & Fire, was basically the same as George Martin to The Beatles
