Old School R&B Jam Of The Day {4/24/03}...Chaka Khan-Clouds

This song was the jam back in-tha-day. Written by Ashford And Simpson, this song had that uptempo "Im Every Woman" kind of feel to it. Chaka was a force to be reckon with{the premier female vocalist of her day} and this song proves how and why.

Love to hear her exclaim..."Its gon raainnn...raiiinnn" at the end of the song. Good stuff!

Enjoy

I love Ashford & Simpson.
I can highly recomend their live album
In performance from 1981,where they perform
all those classics written by them such as
those Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terell songs as well as
"Clouds" & all those other classics.

This song, to this day, makes me cry when I hear it! It, Please Pardon Me and Magic In His Eyes are my favorite Chaka Khan songs.

A Chaka classic; underrated, even if it does sound like some other of her songs from that period. At least a few people aren't aware that Whitney Houston sang background on this song..

That album naughty has some other good songs- I especially like "Naughty", "Nothing's Gonna Take You Away" & Papillon (both with Luther singing background)..

s' gonna rain (s' gonna rain)..
s' gonna rain (rain!)..
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

I actually enjoy his version better! I don't know if it is on any album but, a local DJ here in Chicago would play that version when he was signing off. I will try to locate it and let you know.
