This was first recorded by Jermaine Jackson & Whitney Houston, but it was never released. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I love the Prince and Rosie Gaines "Nothing Compares" duet too, as well as the Linda Ronstadt and Aaron Neville "Don't Know Much" one. I don't think I know the Ray Charles ones. I saw a lot of duets mentioned by other posters that I love as well, but they would take too long to list. [Edited 5/15/20 13:47pm]

I thought this was about separate acts who made songs together, not groups like Ashford & Simpson. If those can count, then why not songs like More Than Words by Extreme or songs by The Beatles, Earth Wind & Fire, O'Jays, The Temptations, etc. where they have songs with 2 or more singers doing leads. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You put Diamonds & Pearls. Prince & The NPG is not 2 people. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. During their tenure with Jam and Lewis, it was always a delight to hear Cherrelle and Alexander O' Neal on a duet.
