I like it more than the original "Mean Sleep" by Cree Summer and Lenny Kravitz. When Nikka's voice comes in, it's like pure sunshine.

How is You're The One That I Want related to a Richard Pryor racing car movie?

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Most are Marvin and Tammi.

But going back a little further -- Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald recorded some of the great duets of all time. Ella anf Louis (1956) is a classic. Other songs include "Learnin' The Blues" and "I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm."

cool

I love Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald doing Dream a Little Dream of Me, and Summertime.

Also, Carly Simon and James Taylor's version of Mockingbird.

As much as I've stunned for Ms. Ross for the entirety of my life, how could I have left "Endless Love" off my list??? doh!

same here..im a lifelong Diana Ross stan too...i still listen to the Supremes very first hit record,"When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes" at least once a week...my mother had told me that when i would cry as a baby, her or my father would play that record, or "In Crowd" by Dobie Gray, and lay me in front of the speakers and i would immediately be quiet and content...if they ever made a movie of my life, those two songs would be the very first songs playing in the soundtrack...ive always LOVED Diana Ross...her performance in "Lady Sings The Blues" is the greatest acting performance of ALL time...and no one can tell me otherwise

https://youtu.be/Uv2dIlheJGU
[Edited 5/13/20 4:29am]

Lady Sings the Blues is one of those performances that makes you wish Ross would have further pursued acting. That woman has serious chops. She reminds me of Cher in that way: although Cher has a larger body of work and got her Oscar, it's still relatively small size far as actresses go, and whenever she's onscreen she blesses us with a knockout performance. I've heard rumors if Ross getting offers over the years, but unfortunately for us, it is said that she always declines bawl bawl bawl

I've always loved Linda Ronstadt's duet with Aaron Neville - Don't Know Much. Beautiful.

I also love the entire Ray Charles Genius Loves Company duets.

Prince and Rosie Gaines - Nothing Compares.....

I was just thinking of Linda and Neville for my next list-post, and goodness, I haven't listened to Ray Charles Genius Loves Company in years! I think I'm about to listen to that this rainy afternoon
