Has Madonna finally gone over the deep end?

Bad enough she talked about blowing up the White House years ago, but now this where she calls the Coronavirus "The Great Equalizer"???

She really seems to be out of touch with reality. Thoughts about this video?

I’m disgusted with the video though I love her music. And worse, she doesn’t even look like herself anymore

This is the only correct answer.

The OP is sorta creating a paper tiger with this one. And frankly, M is not wrong. Here's why:

We see Republicans and Christians ignoring the virus warnings, being around people, and saying they're walking in faith. Yes well God asks for faith, but he gave folks common sense, and not using it is a slap in God's face (if they wanna get all religiousy about it). If anything, it equalizes the field of science deniers and quasi-religious folk (like the GOP) and humble them. It equalizes their privilege and hopefully lessens their stupidity.

No one's calling for anyone dying or anything.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

It's not smart to jump to conclusions and make assumptions.

You'll never find me saying anything negative about Madge before, because I never have.

In fact, after P's passing I strongly supported her when many others were crucifying her.

Remember that pic of her with that bag, supposedly in an elevator?

I went to the trouble of proving it was taken in a dining area.

Now getting back to the subject of the video, what rubbed many people the wrong way - including her fans - was her saying that all people are equally at risk of getting the virus and dying.

She completely ignores the fact that millions of people live in small, heavily populated areas where it's a lot harder to avoid the virus than it is for the wealthy like her who have massive mansions all to themself on acres of private property.

While she passes time making videos of her baths, millions of people still have to put themselves at risk by going to work every day ... and many of them are in direct contact with the public.

Does she have to worry about going out and running errands, shopping for groceries and pumping her own gas? No, she has people do it for her.

Does she spend much of her time searching for toilet paper, hand sanitizer and food? No, she has other people do it.

I don't ever recall P being that out of touch with reality, where he was comparing his struggles and challenges with common folk.

As a Christian I find what you say very offensive, not alone a lie! I can't speak for other Christians or Republicans (and neither should you, because you don't know every Christian or Republican personally, to speak on any of them), but I can speak for this Christian, and I do not ignore virus warnings, nor do I just be around people, and say I am walking in faith! The only one that needs to lessen their stupidity is YOU, for your ridiculous comment! Yes, God gives folks common sense, why don't YOU try using it!

I didn't see that as him ignoring his privilege the way Madonna is. He was bound to a contract he didn't like, not quite the same thing.

I'm a Christian, so your arrogance and soapbox post is offensive to me.

See how that works? Neither of us care.

...but he characterized/labeled himself as a "slave" because of his silly contract (that he agreed to and signed, just for the record). Labeling yourself a "slave" over something as trivial as a record contract when historically so many people endured indentured servitude out of no choice or decision of their own (like when he signed his contract of his own free will) is as "out of touch with reality" in "comparing his struggles and challenges with common folk" as it gets, to use your specific verbage.

Or is this like when we celebrate the #MeToo of a celeb but justify all of Prince's creepy Lolita relationships because he sat in the room counting the days until 18th birthdays? It's only okay when Prince does it, right? Sorry I forgot.

I'm not surprised. When your own fans dislike something you say, you know you've gone too far.

Oh please, must be a Janet or Gaga fan virtue signaling. She said nothing wrong, but people like to take things way out of context. Just like the whole "blow up tbe white house" thing, which was carefully cut out of context. Her delivery was pretentous though. Still, her message had good intentions.

Let me guess. If Cardi B, Beyonce, or Taylor Swift did the same thing, people would be praising them to the high heavens. As someone who actually HAS the virus, I am more offended that people like Lady Gaga are delaying their albums after the first single flopped and saying, "I'm doing this because I care about helping people."

Considering the horror stories I heard from her tour and cancelling and calling out fans for money and times of shows, how does she have anyone left.

Well. She is not totally wrong, but the way she presented it, looked and just the fact that she has millions and doesn't have to worry how she's gonna get through the next months, makes her just not that equal as she would like to make us believe. So really, these mansion dwellers who have staff doing shit for them, really should just shut the fuck up and not tell us that we're equal. Cause, really, we are not.
