Blinding Lights

Who else likes this song from the Weeknd? I can’t believe it’s produced by Max Martin. That should make it a poor mans False Alarm, but I think it stands on its own

I liked it better when A-Ha did it and it was called "Take on Me."

I like it too. I got curious about it a couple
Of years ago. A Norwegian group with world-wide
recognition. Toured all over. And, in the u.s., you only ever heard that one song on the radio and to this day, it still gets played on oldies. The video is really fun and creative and humorous, starting in a diner...the girl, seated in a booth reading the funnies. Suddenly, a hand reaches out and pulls her into the scene, a motor cycle race with the lead singer riding one bike and 2 shady characters against him. In the funnies world, she and everything are portrayed as animated line-drawings. When things get dicey, Morten Harket, the lead singer, pushes her out of the newspaper and back into the diner. Meanwhile, the waitress, ticked off when no one was there to pay the check, has crumpled up the paper and thrown it in the waste basket. The waitress and patrons look down at her in a daze on the floor. She gets up and runs out.

To drift back towards the topic at hand --- Blinding Lights. I do like it. Nice voice. I'll check out more of Abel Makkonen Tesfaye's music. I'm not so good at keeping up with trending music so it's been fun to come here and learn about artists I'm not familiar with. Btw, I think you could put his name in the thread titled roughly 'unpronounceable names'.

Here's one song I bookmarked. It's from Morten Harket, after he separated from the group, A-ha. Called 'Spanish Steps'. Just for a taste.

And, here's another taste... of a-ha. There's a lot to check out though.
