The Gigaton movie has now been canceled, too. All of the concerts I'm going to except one in July have now been postponed. Much worse than this, my son's college graduation will probably be canceled in May and I will be stuck with nonrefundable plane and hotel expenses... What a year this is turning out to be...   I hope we all get through it unscathed and have many more musical adventures to look forward to...
A friend of mine WAS going to the New Orleans Jazz Fest - he said he booked a room at a boutique hotel that said up front no refunds for cancellations, so he is screwed but said he'd rather be Covid-19 free at any cost.

I don't see how hotels can refuse to refund prepays when there's a declared national emergency.
Legally, yes they can. But ethically, it's wrong and not good for business longterm. The gov should be able to step in and force refunds. "Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself." |
