You've got 7 volumes? That's pretty cool. In the late 90s and early 2000s there was a huge interest and many compilations came out that of course I loved and bought.

You've got to know about the Daptone record label, which is primarily originals with Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings as the most popular group.

Then there's the Ubiquity records stuff which has compilations and reissues that are amazing.

It seems like the U.K. has some "crate digger" funk and soul obessed people putting out compilations as well.

I've been listening and collecting funk for a LONG time. While I love most of it, I really tend to like the late 60s to mid 70s stuff the most. Then there's the jazz funk from this time that's different but still amazing.

Betty Davis records are essential but the list is long in the more obscure stuff.

Here's one of my all-time faves from 1982! The whole album is pretty slammin' actually and has been remastered by Funkytowngrooves per my request and in Japan with bonus tracks! <3
